Football is a very fun and active game. The essence of the game is to score the ball into the opponent's goal. The match consists of two halves. Each half lasts 45 minutes. Sometimes they give extra time. The team must consist of 11 people, namely 10 players and 1 goalkeeper. A characteristic feature of the rules of the game is the prohibition of passing the ball with your hands. Only the goalkeeper may catch the ball with his hands.

In the evenings I often play football with my friends. Not far from my house there is a field where we are going. Unfortunately, there is no gate there yet, but the gates are the trees in this field, or rather, the distance between them. I prefer to play as a center forward. Recently, my parents even gave me a real ball. I was extremely happy. I think football is the best and most interesting sport.

Fedor Likholitov: “Our goal in this life

In the recent past, the center of the Russian national team became the ambassador of the Quiet Basketball project.

In the career of Fedor Likholitov there were many teams, and in each of them he was in sight. American University "Virginia Commons" and French "Strasbourg", Greek "Aris" and Turkish "Besiktas", almost all the leading Russian clubs (Dynamo capital, Triumph near Moscow, Ural Great, UNICS, Krasnye Krylia Samara ”, “Avtodor”, Volgograd “Red October”). And, of course, the Russian national team. True, in its composition he held only two major tournaments - the European Championships in 2003 and 2005.

Recall that “silent!basketball” is an inclusive direction of the Russian Basketball Federation, which united in one project the support of sports federations of players with intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments and musculoskeletal disorders. As part of it, starting this year, master classes, open lessons and other events for special athletes are regularly held. The main mission of the project is to make basketball more accessible for these players and make everyone fall in love with our sport.

- Are you happy with the way your playing career has turned out or do you feel like you could have done better?

- I am extremely happy and satisfied with my career. I am grateful to fate, to basketball, to all the coaches who made at least a minimal effort so that I could move forward. I am grateful to my parents: my father passed away when I was 8 years old, and my mother supported me in every possible way and helped my basketball development a lot.

The career developed in the way it was supposed to develop. A lot of clubs, the national team - all this gave a lot of experience. Then I didn't understand it. But on the other hand, having knowledge (Fyodor Likholitov received a psychological education. - approx. RFB ), I can say to all athletes: appreciate what is happening now. There is no need to divide everything into good and bad - this is the invaluable experience that everyone needs to go through.

- Your participation in the Russian national team ended after David Blatt took over. What prevented you from gaining a foothold in the squad under the new head coach?

- Of course, there was resentment then. I now perfectly understand that every person is the blacksmith of his own happiness. And if I then responsibly and calmly approached David's training, everything could have turned out differently. After all, then I was on the extended list of candidates for the national team, but I didn’t get into the squad for a number of games. And one of the seven deadly sins - pride - affected.

At that time the general manager of the national team was Sergey Tarakanov. I came and told him everything. On the one hand, it was very good - I was not afraid, I did not keep emotions in myself. On the other hand, everything could have been done differently, not so sharply and temperamentally. And the result could be different. But then, in 2006, I really wanted to play. And because of this, he clashed a lot with the coaches. Why David stopped inviting me later, when I showed myself well in the composition of Ural Great and Besiktas, the question is no longer up to me.

There is a third point. A professional athlete cannot exist without pride, self-confidence and pressure. These emotions must be kept under control. But if you don’t show them at all, you will never succeed.

- You played your last match on April 26, 2015 for Krasny Oktyabr from Volgograd. Why did you decide to end your career? And how hard was this decision?

- Actually, the decision was easy. It was hard to deal with the thought “What next?”. So it turns out that the age of the athlete is quite short. And if you do not take care of your future in advance, you start to twitch and panic - the specialization is very narrow. I didn't think what would happen next. And then it hit me hard, literally hit me on the head. For several years I tried to find myself in business. Sometimes randomly opened some new business.

- Basketball completely disappeared from your life then?

- I had a complete apathy for basketball. I walked away from him - so tired of basketball that it is impossible to describe in words. Decided for myself that everything. I left for the second time. The first one did not work - Dmitry Gerasimenko and Krasny Oktyabr appeared. We came to the understanding that we need to play, that there is an ultimate goal - the general manager of the team. Completed the second time around. There was a "burnout": I did not watch basketball, I was not interested in it.

- When did this condition pass?

- In 3-4 years. I went into business, there were a lot of things at the beginning of my post-sports career. But eventually started attending some games. Friends invited, I came, looked, I liked it. But then I was busy with other things, and the focus was directed in the wrong direction.

And then my project appeared - basketball school "Vysota 3.05". It was a revelation, a breath of fresh air. I turned away from basketball for a long time, but he still found me. I had a furniture workshop - I decided to close production, handed over all orders and completely switched to basketball. It just came. I started coaching kids. Sometimes, after training, he would come as sweaty as the guys. And now I understand: communication, training is mine. I even received a psychological education in order to understand children before responsible games.

Gradually things got better. Now I try to watch every broadcast, I'm interested in everything about basketball. Then it was like some kind of challenge - to live 3-4 years without basketball. And I am grateful for this page of my biography. Without her, I would not have known all the sensations that I experience now.

- What is the Height 3.05 project?

- I train children at this school. Starting from 5-6 years old, and up to 16. There are two branches - in Moscow and the Moscow region. There are just over 80 people in total.

- Isn't it too early to start playing basketball at 5?

- The sooner a child starts to play any sport, the better his intellect develops, the faster mental and physical development occurs. And basketball is also growth. Sometimes mothers ask: if the child studies, will he grow up? I answer "Let's see". And it does grow.

- When did you receive the proposal from the RFB? And how quickly did you agree?

- Recently. I have known RSE President Andrey Kirilenko well since childhood - we played together for junior teams, for the national team. When he told me this direction, he immediately responded. I love children, I love to train with them. I saw Andrey's reverent attitude towards this project, and it also helped me to say “Yes”. I just started doing this, but I can say that this is an outlet, a good thing. There is energy that you exchange, share your knowledge. At my first open lesson, the children drew pictures for us. It was a very positive exchange.

- Your debut in the "quiet! basketball" project took place on November 11 in a special (correctional) comprehensive boarding school No. 52. How was this open lesson?

- Excellent! I saw in children, who, perhaps, for the first time ever picked up a basketball, a real passion. For us, as coaches, the main thing was to reveal it so that the children would be interested. So that they feel the highlight of basketball, that you can play both on your own and involve partners. No wonder basketball is called mobile chess at the highest level. The fact that Andrei Kirilenko offered me this mission is another great way to show people that basketball is a game for absolutely everyone. Any children's coach should charge children with their energy and love for the game. So that they get a message about how cool it is to play basketball.

- During the open lesson, you gathered the children together in a circle and they shouted “Team!”. How important is it?

- It has been proven that a child develops better in a team. There are, of course, isolated cases when it is not necessary to pull - he must want to. But in the team everyone feels support, feels that the result depends on him. And this is a very important feeling. In all team sports, the interaction between partners reveals other qualities - leadership, communication, helps to better understand other people. The child should feel that he is not alone, hear the opinions of others, help others and show himself.

It happens that a child comes to me for training and keeps to himself. This is a normal reaction. Even thanks to the beautiful philosophical tale "The Little Prince" we know that being alone in this world is boring.

- Is the fact that you conducted this open lesson together with Alexei Savrasenko a kind of additional bonus?

- We have a very good relationship. When in 2002 I came to Greece to play for Aris, Alexey found my phone number, called and since then we have been close friends. Recently, when he worked in Krasnodar, they communicated less frequently. But now I was very glad to see him and spend time together.

- Have you ever participated in master classes or other similar basketball-related events?

- When I was in America at the university, we had visits from children with an autism spectrum disorder. Such events are always welcome there. But it was the first time he held a master class for children with special needs. And I really liked it.

- Why "quiet! basketball"?

- Each person has his own way. If you work on yourself, you will definitely come to it. When Andrey Kirilenko told about the project, he captured me with my head. Our goal in this life is to be useful to people, to give them a piece of ourselves. It was a new challenge.

We know that such children exist, but we do not see them, we do not pay attention to some moments. I was inspired by the video that the RFB made about children with damage to the musculoskeletal system. These are very strong people. They are constantly faced with difficulties - travel, flights, expensive equipment. But they find the strength to go out on the court, play basketball and enjoy it. And the games are very interesting - this is also a breathtaking sight. We need to do more competitions for people to see it. I asked to get to the training with athletes from POD. I want to play with them, communicate, express my delight.

- Quiet!basketball project events are mainly held within the Winline Russian Basketball 3x3 Championship. Have you played 3v3 basketball before?

- The first experience was back in 1995 or 1996. Then it was streetball. Later, they somehow played on Red Square as part of the basketball festival. We then reached the playoffs, where we were immediately “carried out”. Got a good lesson. 3x3 is very different from classic basketball, it has its own significant advantages - entertainment and mass character.

Somehow we took part in a 4x4 tournament in Gorky Park and became champions then. That team was assembled by the current executive director of the RFB, Vladimir Dyachok. I really like 3x3 - this is a dynamic and spectacular basketball that has become an Olympic sport. One of my friends Alexander Fomin constantly arranges 3x3 holidays.
