The fourth- and fifth-grade boys came from behind at halftime to beat Winchendon 24-19. Kevin Broderick had several assists and led G-D with five points. Christian Tims, Casey Trimper, Sam Ormsby and Cooper Granville each added four points. Connor Buchman and Patrick Kelly played tenacious defense and had numerous rebounds.

In one of the most exciting and emotional games of the season, the fifth-grade boys won their fourth overtime game of the season 32-30 over Nashoba in Bolton. Andrew Stenstream continued his hot scoring touch with 14 points and Taylor Wiercinski added eight. Ajaje McCracken-Bradley and Will Vogel led the rebounders with seven and six respectively. Nate Bushnell and Nate Spinale each had a key basket late in regulation to put the game into overtime and Wes Garibotto made three key stops late in overtime to help seal the victory after Wiercinski and Stenstream all four of their foul shots with time running down. G-D is now 5-2 in the league and meets the top two teams in the league in the next couple of weeks.

The sixth-grade boys lost 42-9 against Oakmont. The highlight was Tommy Raymond, who played like a beast, snagging almost every G-D rebound, Matt Egan who scored his first ever three pointer, and Jem Booth who continues to be a scorer (having not scored at all last year).
G6
The sixth-grade girls team got off to an even start against Leominster and were only down 14-10 at the half. Unfortunately, turnovers and low scoring allowed Leominster to take a commanding lead and the G-D girls were unable to recover, losing 32-18.
Haly Buchmann lead all scorers with six points, followed by Clare Joyce with four points. Lauren Phelps, Lidia Spada, Taylor Caldwell, and Rebecca Brennan all had two points.

The seventh-grade girls had a breakout game vversus previously undefeated Hopkinton. Emily Hutchins (seven points) started the scoring for G-D with a three-pointer. The Crusaders looked nearly perfect offensively in the first half as they couldn’t seem to miss. Defensively, they were also stingy holding Hopkinton to only seven points in the first half, and 17 in the game. At the final buzzer the score was 53-17 G-D. Strong performances by many players including Brenna O’Malley who notched the team’s first double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds) on fearsome inside play. Ali Vogel (10 points, four rebounds, four steals), Katie Eberhardt (eight points, eight rebounds, six steals), and Olivia Shusta (seven points, 11 rebounds) also logged very impressive numbers. Sierra Wynn played unselfishly leading the team in assists with four. Kyleigh McDonald (four points), Amanda Lacombe (five points) and Caroline Straw (two points) rounded out the scoring for G-D.
G8
The eighth-grade girls had a strong performance against Norwood. G8 was balanced and aggressive defensively early on and took a 27-14 halftime lead. The team exploded in the second half on both ends of the floor to finish with a 61-19 victory. Nicole Tammaro (17 pts, five reb, seven assists), Emma Wilson (12 pts, three steals) and Jillian Van Pelt (eight pts, four assists) paced the team offensively. Lauren Hill (six pts), Molly Braley (four pts, six reb), Abby Eisenklam (seven reb, six steals) were also big contributors.
Coach’s note: Off the court, the G8's were proud to have their own Abby Eisenklam selected to represent the town of Dunstable in the Governor's Project 351. Teachers from each town in Massachusetts select one student to represent them, based on their exemplary values of kindness, compassion, humility and gratitude. As part of her responsibilities, Abby recently spent a day representing Dunstable by interacting with her peers from other towns, civic leaders and others volunteers giving back to the community. Congrats Abby, you make G8 and the GDYBL proud!

The eight-grade boys welcomed Wayland in a crossover game with the Metrowest travel league. In the first half, five different players hit for a total of eight three-point field goals against the Wayland zone resulting in a 42-point half and a 22-point lead. Colin teDuits and Sam Smethurst sparked the Crusaders with 10 quick points at the beginning of the game. B8 cruised in the second half to a final of 72-30 win, their seventh straight. In limited minutes, Joe O'Malley hit for 20 to lead the scoring. Beyond that, the scoring was balanced. Jack Foster added 12, Tim Stark 10, Charlie Willis eight, and Sammie Eggiman contributed six and played excellent defense throughout the contest.
