Additional Hoops on Fire 3 v. 3 Tournament Information:
Spirit of Billy Award: This award will be given to a player that shows sportsmanship and enthusiasm at a high level of play.
New This Year:
1. We will display a Spirit of Billy Award Plaque at the GDR High School that identifies past and future Spirit of Billy Tournament winners!
2. We will have Live updates to the tournament results and standings on line at www.gdybl.org.
Team Name/Uniform Competition: We will have a competition for most original team name and team uniform. We will be looking for originality. Not necessarily the most expensive team uniform. We will be awarding a nice prize to the winning team.
3on3 Basketball: 3v3 play is great experience for young basketball players and most importantly, it’s a lot of fun! Some details are as follows: Max 4 players per roster. Highly recommend you roster 4 players. Registration fee is $160 per team. There will be a minimum of three 25 minute games. Official travel referees will be used for this event. Teams may advance to playoffs for additional games. In GENERAL, the youngest age groups will play early in the morning and the old guys will finish the play late on Saturday night. We will schedule youngest to oldest. Playoff games will be held on Sunday. Tee shirts to be provided to all pre-registered team players. Awards given to winning and second place teams. Awards given for free throw and foul shooting contest for all youth age groups. Coaches can enter as many teams as they would like. Players cannot be double-rostered. There will be two levels of play for each school age group for grades 3/4-8 and HS: one division for travel/aau players and one division for recreational players. We will also have men’s (recreational and competitive) and women’s open divisions as well as men’s and women’s Over 30, Over 40 and Over 50 divisions of play. At registration, we would like for you to provide as much detail on the level of play for your team so that we can place your team in an appropriate division of play.
Information: A final schedule of games will be posted to the web and sent via email 3 days prior to the event. Details on the tournament will be posted at gdybl.org. This will include all of the tournament information including rules, directions, schedules, standings, etc.
