Let’s delve deeper into the world of fantasy where the never-ending adventure awaits.
How Does It Work?
To play fantasy basketball, you need to draft real players from the National Basketball Association, but more importantly, you’ll need to pay special attention to earning points with those players.
To earn points, you need to analyse the performance of each player on the court. That aside, the game pretty much follows the same basic principles as all other fantasy sports games.
Fantasy basketball requires you to form teams from the respective league. The players earn points based on their performances, and eared points determine losers and winners on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis.
Since the regular format of the game includes drafting fewer players than in other similar fantasy games, it’s safe to say that getting into fantasy basketball is a lot easier than getting into any other fantasy game.
How to Play Fantasy Basketball
To play fantasy basketball, you first need to understand your format. All fantasy sports follow the same patterns – the most valuable players are determined based on the league format.
How Players Score Points
Typically, there are four ways to score in fantasy basketball:
Points
Head to head Points
Head to head Roto
Roto
Points
For Points, it’s all about simple math – the team with the most points wins. The scoring system determines which team has accumulated the most points. This is determined weekly, and there is also a lineup deadline. The winner is the team that collects the most points for the season.
Head to head Points
The Head to head Points game is almost the same as the Head to head Roto concept except for one detail. To achieve victory, you have to total the most fantasy points. This is the main difference between HTD Roto and HTH Points – rather than separating the statistics by categories, the preset value determines the total for each statistic.
The values are:
Points (+1)
Rebounds (+1.2 or 1.25)
Assists (+1.5)
Steals/Blocks (+3)
Turnovers (-1)
The Head to head Points game follows the format that’s more similar to fantasy football. It’s essential to keep in mind the way your commissioner assigns values. Understanding this will help you achieve success.
Head to head Roto
Head to head roto includes games weekly, where you’ll be required to play against other members of your league. You have only one winner and one loser, but it can also be a tie. It depends on your commissioner. The losses and wins determine who makes it to the playoffs, just like in real basketball.
To determine who is a winner or a loser, you’ll need to take a look at each of the statistical categories – steals, assists rebounds points, etc. Those players who accumulate the most statistics in each of the categories are the winners.
Let’s take a look at the following situation: your team accumulated 100 assists, 200 rebounds, and 300 points compared to the other team’s 99 assists, 150 rebounds, and 450 points. The victory is yours because you’ve won the matchup by two categories. This is the format that is mostly associated with fantasy baseball.
Rotisserie or ROTO
Roto includes each category receiving a unit each time your players contribute to that event in the game. If a player scores a rebound, the rebound category gets one point more. To score points, you need to compare your categories with all other teams in the league.
The number of teams in the league determines the number of points. The more teams there are, the more points there will be. It works like this:
The team with the best statistics for a category in the league receives points based on how many teams there are in the league.
If there are 10 teams, the winning team receives 10 points while the second-best team receives 9 and so on. To determine the team’s position in the league, you can total all points in all categories.
Head to Head Scoring
In fantasy basketball, teams compete against each other to receive points. These points are based on the on-field performance of the NBA players. The team that amasses the most significant score every week is the winner.
There are two methods of deciding which team is the winner:
Most categories: depending on the number of categories taken into account, fantasy basketball teams receive points. The team that scores the most points for each of the categories is the winner.
One category: here, fantasy basketball teams can also be winners in a particular category. All they have to do is collect the most significant number of points for that category. At the end of the season, all weekly results are totaled to set the seasonal results.
Fantasy basketball teams that use the head-to-head scoring method usually aim at the playoffs through which losers are eliminated till a champion emerges.
Scoring through Fantasy Points
Fantasy points are awarded for specific statistics and decisions regarding awarding of points are taken by the commissioner alone. For example, the commission may say that a steal will get two fantasy points. In this way, fantasy points are earned every night on the basis of NBA players’ performance on the field, and the team that earns the largest number of fantasy points at the close of the season becomes the winner.
Season-Long Leagues and Keeper Leagues
Keeper leagues refer to multi-year leagues where you’re allowed to stick with players from season to season. Typically, each league comes to a close at the season’s end, with the only exception being keeper leagues.
Your commissioner determines the number of players you’re allowed to keep. When it comes to this, there is no one-size-fits-all solution as each commissioner is different. Some might let you keep all your players from the previous season. Some might allow you keep a few or just one.
The strategy is seldom the same, and it varies the most during the draft. If it’s a season-long league in question, only a player’s performance in the current season is considered. This is somewhat a standard in season-long leagues.
Things look a little bit different for keeper leagues, as this is where future production matters the most. In keeper leagues, well-established, older players are quickly replaced by younger players in the making.
Rule Variations
There is no specific set of rules in fantasy basketball. Instead, there is a range of rule variations. The most common variations include:
Number of Categories: there are three to eleven categories in fantasy basketball leagues. Three-category leagues only include points, assists, and rebounds. This is a basic form of a fantasy basketball league. In some leagues, the commissioner is the one who sets the terms of how many categories will be taken into account.
Number of Teams: fantasy basketball leagues can be public or private. Private leagues are invitation-only and can consist of any number of players. The players are usually already well-established, seasoned, and experienced. Public leagues, on the other hand, consist of either 10 or 12 teams.
Draft Types: there are two methods to draft players in fantasy basketball players – the snake draft and the auction draft. The snake draft includes two rounds of NBA players – the first one is drafted in a particular order while the second one is reversed.
Snake Draft – In case of a snake draft, the first round of NBA players is drafted in a particular order, which is reversed in the second round. The GM who had the opportunity to make the last pick in the previous round will be making the first pick in the next round. The order is reversed so that the GM who gets the chance to make the first pick in a certain round will not get this advantage in the next round.
Auction Draft – In case of auction drafts, each GM starts with a pre-determined budget, which is the same as that allotted for fantasy baseball. GMs must use this budget to draft the entire roster. GMs auction off players and the GM willing to pay the largest amount for a player gets the chance to draft that player.
One of the biggest advantages of auction drafting over snake drafting is that all GMs have equal access to all players in case of the latter. On the downside, it takes long and may scare off beginners.
The commissioner who made the last pick in the second round gets to choose the first pick in the next one and vice versa. The auction draft is the case where each commissioner has a predetermined budget to start with, just like in fantasy baseball.
This budget allows GMs to draft the entire roster. The commissioner willing to pay the most for a player on the auction is the one who gets to draft that player. In auction drafting, all commissioners have equal access to the players in the snake draft. There’s a downside to this drafting type – it takes too long, and that’s the biggest reason why beginners avoid it.
Where to place bets
Just like with real basketball, you can bet on fantasy basketball if you love mixing entertainment with an excellent opportunity to earn some extra cash on the side. There are so many fantasy basketball sites on the net, offering a wide variety of free and paid contests.
These contests include 50/50s, guaranteed prize pools, and heads-up. That means that you got everything covered from NBA games to college basketball games. This is more than enough betting opportunities to go home with incredible amounts. To make it a bit clearer – you can earn from a few hundred up to a few million from betting on fantasy basketball contests.
Some of the professional fantasy basketball players play fantasy basketball games for a living daily. So, you can figure how much potential there is in betting on fantasy basketball. Pay a visit to Fantasy Sports, where you will find many different rooms for betting on fantasy basketball.
How Does NBA Fantasy Work?
The basics of NBA fantasy include selecting players from the NBA league with the primary goal of creating your super team. Based on their on-field performance, your fantasy team will score points.
To play NBA fantasy basketball, get your fantasy NBA dream team through the fantasy basketball season and set a real challenge for all who have the guts to stand up to your selection. To create your team, you’ll need one coach, 2 centers, 4 forwards and 4 guards.
Your budget is 95 credits. Each matchday has several game rounds, which are groups of matches that are played daily. You need to manage your roster in between the game rounds by making substitutions from and to the bench.
You can also buy and sell players but only at the end of the matchday. Aside from creating your own NBA team, you can step your game up and create your own NBA league or even leagues and become the champion. One of the newest and simplest ways to play Fantasy NBA is by giving a try Dunkest Fantasy Basketball.
Pick your favourite NBA players, create a team of winners that will win the championship, and use private or public leagues to become the best of the best. The glory is waiting, so take it.
How does Yahoo Fantasy Basketball Work
To score points in Yahoo fantasy basketball, you need to set a points-scoring format that pretty much follows the primary form of NBA fantasy. Based on their performance on the basketball court, your selected players score points.
These points accumulate and determine which team is the winner. In Yahoo fantasy basketball, there are a couple of ways to distribute the accumulated points:
One real-life point scored equals one fantasy point
Every rebound grabbed is 1.2 points
Every assist registered is 1.5 points
Every steal swiped is 3 points
Every shot blocked is 3 points
Every turnover committed is -1 point
You need 13 players to form a standard Yahoo fantasy team with three players on the bench and ten active players in the game. Those players who are active need to give their best to help your team win a total score for the week. Only points accumulated by active players are taken into account.
Fortunately, it’s possible to move players from the bench slot to the active slot during the week, but you have to be smart about it. The main goal is to make every player so that they give their best to maximize the total of fantasy points scored.
There are matches during the whole week, and you’ll get a chance to show your quality against other teams led by other managers. The team that scores the most fantasy points at the end of the week will take the matchup as the winner.
Structure Your Fantasy Team Like a Pro
There are 13 sports on a standard Yahoo fantasy roster – three reserve positions and 10 active slots. Each of the ten active players can be chosen from the positional designations. Each fantasy basketball player can play up to three positions in an NBA game. An NBA court includes five positions:
Point Guard
Shooting Guard
Small Forward
Power Forward
Centre
Each roster has to fulfill the following requirements to make sure your drafting is approved:
1 Point Guard
1 Shooting Guard
1 Small Forward
1 Power Forward
2 Centers
1 shooting guard or point guard
1 power forward or small forward
2 flex player who can play on any position
To complete your drafting successfully, you need to make sure you pick the right candidates for every position required. Once you’ve filled your 10 active slots, your roster is ready. Now, all that’s left is managing your fantasy team. You’ll be required to change your team during the season. There are two ways to do that:
Trade negotiation
The waiver wire
Trade negotiation allows you to set the terms of the trade with another league member. You choose to send one to three players to another team of your league and get the exchange players in return. While you’ll have to work on your negotiation skills to make this work, a successful trade can change a lot for the better.
The waiver wire
The free-agent list or the waiver wire allows you to trade any player who didn’t pass the initial selection in the draft. You can trade, exchange, or drop your players to add another from the free-agent list, but there are limitations.
You can only make a restricted number of moves weekly. So, use the waiver wire only in situations when your player is under-performing, gets injured long-term, or a surprise player is performing better than you’ve expected.
Here is a great and useful tip: if you want to win a fantasy league, the key to success is in making sharp-witted moves on the waiver wire.
If you want to win a fantasy league like a real champ, there are three things you need to keep in mind – always look for players who can contribute to your team on the waiver wire, make trades with other managers, and switch players in your active slots.
Fantasy playoffs
There are always 4-6 teams that are at the top of every season. At the end of each season, these teams earn their playoff qualifications. They play in matchups, and the teams that lose, go home. This goes on until there are only two best teams left.
These top teams get a chance to play for the fantasy championship. This is the summit of fantasy basketball, and it should be your primary goal. To get to the finals, you need to learn the ins and outs of fantasy NBA. This is where the real action is.
How to Draft Fantasy Basketball
Think of the draft as of the core of your fantasy league. You’ll need to form 10-12 teams, each team consisting of 13 roster spots or players.
Each fantasy owner or general manager has 13 roster spots available. They select their players to fill in the spots, and they can do it using the waiver wire, a trade, or the draft.
Each manager can select up to 13 players. Drafting takes place before the beginning of the season. The league varies in size, and it can consist of 10 or 12 teams. The teams in the league are selected on a random basis, or some predetermined method can be used.
The selected teams take participation in the drafting, where they can pick players from the NBA that will play for them.
Standard drafts
Drafting is all about flexibility. Depending on your strategy, whether you plan to focus on blocks and rebounding categories, you can draft three players for the same position in a row.
Let’s say you draft three centers. Your goal is to dominate the blocks and rebounding categories. To do so, just play all three of them every night. However, things look a bit different when it comes to leagues.
The rules vary from league to league. Some leagues allow you to include just one player at a traditional position with a deep bench and a utility while others allow for one bench spot and all utility players. These things depend on two things – league management and fantasy contest systems.
Fantasy Basketball Tips
Let’s share some words of advice for you to ensure that you make the most of it. Here are some tips to make sure you master fantasy basketball like a true professional.
Check the ranking and know the rules
If you fail to make the right choice with your rankings, you’re doomed to fall. Never forget that a players’ ranking is his value that he brings to your team.
The rules of your league, or shall we say, the format determines a players’ ranking. Always check the league rankings and make sure you understand the rules.
Go for the best players in your drafting
Draft only the top choices available. Why? Because they excel at every position. The key to finding the best players is in analyzing the teams that make it to the championship.
Pay attention to the draft rankings in your league to find out what the positional availability is as this will give you a clear insight into an oversupply or shortage of good players.
Here’s an excellent tip – start your drafting as early as possible as this will allow you to draft the best players before they’re already taken.
Pay attention to roster movements and offseason trades
Keep an eye on roster movements and offseason trades. There are two things you need to worry about in fantasy basketball – usage, which is a statistic, and opportunity, which is a characteristic.
The more time the player spends with the ball, the more he produces the much-needed stats. The players that moved to a new team get more opportunities for increased usage.
You need higher fantasy value in terms of blocks, steals, threes, rebounds, assists, and points to win. The more usage, the more stats, which means more value.
Take injury risk into consideration
Players get injured in fantasy basketball, just like in real life. NBA basketball is a game of high impact, and the risk of injury is not only high but always present.
Some players are prone to injury, and you’ll want to avoid those because you don’t want to end up drafting players who will miss games every season due to being injured. You need fresh players, so avoid players with high injury risks.
Conclusion
As you can see, playing fantasy basketball and betting on it can be a lot of fun. I can tell you from my personal experience as a professional gambler that betting on fantasy basketball can be more exciting than placing bets on real basketball.
This guide is aimed at all those who are willing to give fantasy basketball a try and discover how immersive it can be.
Have you ever placed a bet on fantasy basketball? Have you ever played it? What is your strategy for creating fantasy basketball teams? Are you a passionate gambler like myself? Leave the answers in the comments, and let’s discuss useful tips that can help become better at fantasy sports.
Fantasy Basketball FAQs
Q1. What is daily fantasy basketball?
Answer:
Daily fantasy basketball is similar to traditional fantasy basketball. In case of daily fantasy basketball games, players have to build a team of NBA players and earn points based on their performance on field. As mentioned above, a variety of scoring rules and methodologies are used to award points. While traditional basketball lasts throughout the season, daily fantasy basketball games last only for a day.
Q2. Are free fantasy basketball games available?
Answer:
Yes, there are plenty of free basketball games available. You can learn the various aspects of playing fantasy basketball without taking risks. However, you must note that you will not win any real money prizes if you are playing for free.
Q3. Is it safe and legal to play fantasy basketball for real money?
Answer:
Fantasy basketball is 100% safe and legal as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 does not mention fantasy sports in its list of prohibited games. The fantasy websites we recommend are safe and legal as they do not even operate in the handful of US states that consider fantasy sports to be illegal.
Q4. Where do I find fantasy basketball games?
Answer:
You can find fantasy basketball games at any of the fantasy sports websites we recommend. Major sports portals such as NBA.com, ESPN.com, CBS Sportsline, and Yahoo! also offer free or affordable fantasy basketball.
Q5. Can I play fantasy basketball on my mobile?
Answer:
Yes, you can play fantasy basketball on mobile devices as all fantasy sports sites are mobile friendly.
Q6. How does scoring work in fantasy basketball?
Answer:
In fantasy basketball, scoring is determined by scoring type. If your chosen format is a win/loss league, a win or loss for each category allows you to score players. Then you total the points at the end of the season, and the player with the highest point value takes the victory for that league’s season.
Q7. Is there a way to win NBA fantasy?
Answer:
Yes, but it takes skills and practice. Know your league well, make sure you understand the rules, know which players to choose and when. Pay special attention to positions, don’t waste efforts trying to win every category, avoid rookies, and never think like a fan.
Q8. Is there a position I should consider first when drafting?
Answer:
Yes, of course. I always advise you to start your drafting as early as possible and go for the power forwards. If you’ve chosen a 10-team format, every other position will do fine for the starting slots. If you have to choose between other positions that hold equal value to the power forward, your choice should be a power forward.
Q9. How to start my NBA fantasy league?
Answer:
Find the fantasy basketball tab and select Create League. It’s essential to pick the desired league name that’s easy to remember and attention-grabbing. Aside from the title, enter your draft date and time, draft preference, scoring preference, and the number of teams.

FAQ
Fan Points
Fan points are simply Yahoo!'s way of saying fantasy points. You'll often find 'fan points' written beside the total number of points a player earned for a given week, or what they are projected to earn.
You may also find fan points per game, which is simply fantasy points per game. The total number of fantasy points for a given player may change depending on what scoring system your league runs. The fantasy points for a player listed on the homepage will be calculated using the basic scoring system.
Projected fantasy points are often calculated based on past performances of a player, especially how they are performing more recently. Sometimes these calculations may also take into account the over/under bet in sportsbooks.
Scoring Categories
There are categories of scoring in fantasy football for all the different positions and types of plays that each player might do during a game. The scoring categories for Yahoo Fantasy Football are passing, rushing, receiving, defense, special teams, and kickers.
Passing
Yahoo differentiates scoring for players based on the statistics you come across during a game. Quarterbacks accrue passing statistics more than anything else. A player can earn points for passing yards and passing touchdowns. They can also lose points for interceptions thrown.
Rushing
This is a statistic that is accumulated by just about any player in today’s NFL. When the sport first started, running back was the only position where players would get rushing yards. But now, quarterbacks and sometimes even receivers will be involved in a run play and get rushing yards. Players also can earn points when they get a rushing touchdown. They can lose points if they fumble the football and it is recovered by the opposing team.
Receiving
Just like rushing stats, running backs and wide receivers/tight ends are the main positions involved. PPR leagues will award a player one point or ½ half point for catching a pass. Alsol, players get points for all the receiving yards they allot during the course of a game and points for the touchdowns they get in a game.
Defense
The defense as a unit can also score points in Yahoo Fantasy Football through interceptions, sacks, fumble recoveries, and defensive touchdowns. While the defense does not typically score as many points as the offense due to them only having one spot on the roster, they can still help their team by limiting offensive points and racking up points for defensive stats. The defense can also score points by limiting the opposing team from scoring. The lower the point total for their real-life opponent, the more points a fantasy football defense is awarded.
Special Teams
Special teams can earn points in Yahoo Fantasy Football for blocking a kick, return yardage, and return touchdowns. The special teams unit is typically grouped in with the defense in terms of positioning, and the position in fantasy football is known as Defense/Special Teams (D/ST).
Kickers
Kickers earn points in Yahoo Fantasy Football by kicking field goals and extra points. The longer the field goal made, the more points are awarded to the kicker. Kickers can have a significant impact on a tight fantasy football matchup, especially if their team’s offense is having trouble scoring touchdowns.

Fantasy Yahoo! NBA: League One Draft Review - Fantasy Basketball - Blogs
Hello everyone! It's time for the traditional draft review. The scheme remained the same: the best pick, the worst and the overall impression.
Let's go!
Avengers
Best pick: (72) - Jose Calderon. I am almost 100% sure that Calderon will be in the Top 60 this year. Just the perfect player for the Knicks triangle offense. Threes, assists and a chic percentage, both from the line and from the game (especially from the game!). Yes, you can't expect steals from him, but the criminally small number of losses is another reason for optimism.
Worst pick: (108) Danillo Gallinari. We haven't seen Gallinari play for 1.5 years. How well did he recover? When will he get in shape? How long will it play? How many rest games will Shaw give him at the start of the season? Too many questions in my opinion. Drafting Danila around the 140 pick is not a problem for me, but at the beginning of the second hundred there were options that were both more interesting and less traumatic.
General impression: In general, the team is very pleasant. Davis will have to drag, DeRoosen and Jones will have to progress, and Calderon and Dragic will have to take the rap for passing. Also wondering if Trey Burke will be able to attack with the same high percentage as in the preseason? (my answer is no) But it should be higher than last year's 38%. Henry Sims is the main center of Philae, also a good long range pick. Of the weak points, I will note the interceptions. Of the strong, first of all, a small number of losses, as well as points and three. Should go to software.
sports.ru/deviant
Best pick: (35) – Al Horford. Al started last season just great, played in the first round, but was seriously injured. Of course, there are some concerns about his health, but under 35 of spades you get a player who can potentially give the numbers of the first round. Excellent percentage from the game, points, rebounds, blocks with steals - the whole package.
Worst pick: (2) - Kevin Durant. Durant is reported to be out for 6-8 weeks, but I would aim for 8-10 weeks so as not to feed on empty hopes and not be disappointed later. Yes, when Durant returns, you will be good, but it will be hard to play for a month or two without your best (and head) player. Ultimately, if someone else gets injured besides Durant, it could cost you the P.O. It seems like an unnecessary risk to me when you can take, for example, Steph or Harden (who was simply the best in the last 2 months of last season) and calmly choose further.
Overall impression: Great team, what can I say. And after Durant's recovery, he must “walk” with a confident gait. The only negative is the increased trauma: Durant will be after the injury, Al after the injury, Kobe after the injury. The start of the season will not be easy. Nevertheless, my prediction is to get into the software.

Best pick: (106) - Jared Sallinger. Ooh, I'm a big Sally fan this season. In principle, even if he does not even make much progress, but gives his 13-14 points + 8-9rebounds, and improve the percentage from the game - this will already be enough to "justify" this pick. But I hope for more: an increase in playing time (28 minutes last season), and therefore an increase in points, rebounds, three, etc., etc. Great peak!
Worst pick: (39) - Victor Oladipo. Well, to be honest, I do not like to draft an already injured player. Yes, there are “reports” that he will return “at that time”, but how many times it happened that after the next examination, the recovery time was shifted. Oladipo will miss about a month, which, coupled with the dangerous injury (unfortunately) Ty Lawson can seriously complicate life. If not for Victor's damage, then what questions - the pick has the right to life: an excellent defensive line + losses should be less, Payton will be a "specialist" in them. Although, frankly, this whole line of second-tier point guards is traumatic: Lawson with ankles, Deron with them, Bledsoe is also far from Wall in terms of health. But these are potential injuries, not real, like Oladipo.
Overall Impression: Patty Mills' last pick is a bit confusing to me, last read he hopes to be back in January. Jabari Parker under 75 spades is a bit early in my opinion. A low percentage from the game and a relatively large number of losses will affect. It would be more convenient to draft him around the 100th pick, I already wrote about Oladipo. On the other hand: LeBron, Tai, Markieff, Sallinger, Green and Plumlee like it. The team turned out to be even, without strong minuses or pluses. I think you can finish in the region of 6-10 places, so the fight for VP.

Best pick: (33) - Paul Millsap. Here are some who say: "Now Horford is back, Millsap's stats will drop." And if you look at how he played BEFORE Al's injury, you can see that everything was great even then, and Paul was in the Top 25. What I like most about Millsap is the sheer amount of steals he does. Now he also throws three (spoiling the percentage from the game, but nonetheless). I don't have the slightest season that Paul will be in the Top 30 at the end of the season.
Worst pick: (76) - Nikola Pekovic. In principle, if you look at the numbers per game, Peck should be leaving at this point in the draft. But I am very confused by his health: last year he gave out Dwyane Wade (which means he missed 28 games), before that 20 games, in the lockout season 19, and in his debut season 17. Plus, Peck supported Flip Saunders' idea that to cut his playing time down to 27 minutes per game, and competition from young Dieng isn't making things any better either.
Overall impression: Rondo, Peck, Bogut and Gordon's mid-draft is too traumatic for my taste. Elfried Peyton is a very interesting pick, but judging by the College, get ready for his 60% from the line and a lot of losses. Actually, it is because of LeBron, Rondo and Payton that you are one of the weakest in losses, but no problems with passes and steals. Much will depend on the health of the players. My prediction is the fight for software.
Garrincha
Best peak: (68) - Robin Lopez. Lopez is one of those players who is not very noticeable, but very effective. Because when I looked at the ratings for last season, I was extremely surprised when I saw that Lopez was #40 in average per game! Above any of the Gasols. In many ways, only 1 (one!) loss per game contributes to this. But the percentage from the line is above 80 (this is for a big one!), Almost 2 blocks, as well as a huge plus - unlike his injured brother, Lopez has been playing 82 games for 2 seasons in a row.
Worst pick: (32) – Derrick Rose - I don't like the pick here. Even in his MVP season, Derrick was only 16th in average per game. How good will he be this year, how many games will he play? Unclear. I'm generally optimistic, but I'm ready to draft Derrick around the 50th pick, not before. A small number of interceptions, a low percentage from the game, all this scares me.
General impression: Of the last 5 peaks, only 1 is liked - the last one is the harsh Steven Adams. Gerald Green is not clear how much time he will get, because the backcourt in the Suns is packed to capacity, and on the third number is PJ Tucker, Marcus Morris and TJ Warren. Weathers wasn't even in the Top 200 last season. Yes, he will definitely increase the percentage of the game, what questions. But the scoring will also drop. And he's not the kind of player who steals a lot. Add to this the percentage from the line below 70 (this is for the guard), and everything is sad. Wilson Chandler missed his chance last year, now he sits behind Gallinari, who, in principle, will miss the game. But then there's the question of who will miss them more, Chandler or Gallo. As a result, problems with points, but you will completely block everyone. Fight for software.
SALAMANKA
Best pick: (103) - Greg Monroe. I'm far from being a Monroe fan, and I don't like this situation in Detroit, but damn, 103 spades is a great price for Monroe. 15 + 9 and a good percentage from the game, I expect something in the area. But if he is exchanged, then who knows, maybe he will open up in a new way.
Worst pick: (6) - Blake Griffin. Uh, I don't know how much I need to drink to draft Griffin over Harden. Yes, I understand everything, one of the candidates for the MVP, but damn it, it's too early! Griffin from the lane is very bad. Not as bad as it was, but bad. Also the low number of blocks, which is an important factor in a big league like ours. Yes, almost 4 assists is just great for a big one, but almost 3 losses are here. But it will probably be interesting to watch Clippers matches))
Overall impression: For my taste, it turned out to be a fairly average team. Winning a league with Blake Griffin on your team and Andre Drummond on the other team is next to impossible. I don't like Zack Randolph's pick at number 67 either. He was #109 per game last season, so I'll just copy what I wrote a year ago: “Zak, along with Nick Young, is one of the clearest examples of how fringe stats (tackling, blocks, assists) affect fantasy ratings. Zi-Bo may well give 15 + 10, but at the same time all other categories are below the league average. Last year #96, in this I expect to drop out of the Top 100.” From the second half, I like Alec Burks from Utah, I expect a good season from him. If you go through the categories, the blocks are littered, but the points, assists and percentage from the game are strong. However, if you don’t find Jeremy Lin the “goldfish” in free agents, then most likely your team will fly past the PO.
Falcao10
Best pick: (7) James Harden. Damn, Harden under the 7th peak is cool. As I wrote above, in the last 2 months Harden was just, as I call it, in "cheat" mode and rightfully went as the # 1 player. This year, Parson is gone, Lin is in California, Ashik is in the Pelicans, and old rookie Arizu is nothing more than a spot-up shooter. Most of the time, Harden will have the ball in his hands. Yes, more losses for sure, but so what? Great start.
Worst pick: (30) - Clay Thompson. Yes, Clay is sure to be the player who scores 20+ points this year. But after all, by and large, except for three and points, he offers nothing. There are no steals, few assists with rebounds, a measly 2 attempts from the line don't help much either. After 10-15 picks, I feel comfortable drafting Clay, but not in the Top 30.
Overall impression: To choose the worst pick, I had to think, all the others were made on time. For once, Deron Williams drafts when he needs to. Just what's up with his ankles? Like operations on both. I don’t know, is it really good or bad?)) Larry Sanders is an interesting candidate for a bounce back season, the last one was, of course, a disaster, but for non-playing reasons. I don't like the ending of Bellinelli, Henderson and Macklemore, but they are unlikely to stay on your team for a long time. By category, percentage from the game and rebounds are very, very weak, but, as expected, percentage from the line, threes and points, everything is here. If Deron and Sanders have good seasons, and you find a worthy replacement for Macklemore and Henderson in free agency, then you can make some noise in PO. But if Deron breaks down and Larry goes out to the club again, then… well, I guess that's understandable. In this regard, my forecast is the struggle for software.
ruskass-2
Best pick: (29) – Marc Gasol. Last season, due to injury, came out crumpled for Gasol Jr. In the 12-13 season he was 11th on average per game, in 11-12 he was 16th. I don't see any reasons that can prevent him from repeating these figures. He has an unusual line for the center, not such a large number of rebounds is compensated by almost 4 assists and a percentage from the line under 80. The main thing is without injuries.
Worst pick: (65) - Brandon Jennings. What can I say, this is a big advance to Brandon. Two years ago, Jennings was in the top 20 in average per game, but last season he completely fell out of the top hundred. The hope that his killer percentage from the game (only once in his career he attacked above 40% from the game) will go up, of course there is, but not with me. Maybe SvG can retrain Brandon to attack more deliberately, who knows. But what you should get for sure is stealth with passes.
General impression : I don't really like the end of the draft: Nene injured, Tony Allen is fine, but without any potential, Splitter is still injured, and is unlikely to play in the first matches. I also fear for Jordan Hill, who seemed traumatic to me last season. On the other hand, when he is healthy, but on someone else's shield is just a monster. From the weak categories, I will highlight the percentage from the game (thanks to Jennings) and three-pointers (thanks to Rubio), but, as expected, the transfers are at the highest level. As a result, if Jennings “fixes”, Hill does not break, Chalmers will play well (I believe this, despite the chaotic preseason), and from free agents someone stable will join - then be in the POE. Forecast - the struggle for software.
Andrey-6a6ay
Best pick: (28) – Dirk Nowitzki. What a great peak! Do you know what I'll tell you? Over the past 14 (!!!) years, Dirk was only 1 (one!!!) time not in the Top 10 on average per game. It's just incredible. Yes, there are few styloblocks, but the most gorgeous percentages, scoring, triples, a small number of losses. Damn, everyone already knows everything, a player you can rely on. Why he lived up to the 28th peak is a mystery.
Worst pick: (81) - Joe Johnson. Jo-Jo for 2 seasons in Brooklyn was 105th and 9th2nd on average per game. Therefore, the 81st choice is not terrible, of course, but there is no potential here. Points, three-pointers - that's it, you can't wait for more. Reggie Jackson, Tyrek, Lin - everything, for my taste, is more interesting and with a big upside.
General impression: I wonder what your start of the season will be like: Fry is injured, Swagy Pi Young too, and for a whole month, JR Smith is still unsuccessfully trying to master the triangular attack, and Bargnani definitely misses the first 3 games of the season. So, in the end, how will Wade play? Therefore, on the one hand, the composition is not bad, and Westbrook will be dragging at the start, but injuries to other players can seriously complicate life. Points and three and your biggest strengths, the "big" categories - rebounds and blocks, are clearly overwhelmed. My prediction is the fight for software.
Kovac15
Best pick: (27) - Nicholas Batum. Nick is one of the few players in the league who can play a 5x5 lane. Last season, his steals, blocks, and three-pointers dropped. I wonder if the trend will continue this season, but in any case, this is a good solid peak. Nick can play through injuries, he didn't miss a single game last season. 13 + 2 treys + 7 rebounds + 5 assists with good percentages and steel blocks is a great line.
Worst pick: (63) – Jonas Valanciunas. I noticed during the draft that a lot of people wanted to draft Valanciunas. And why? I don't understand. Last season I believed in him and drafted aggressively, but, damn it, I suffered with him. First, sometimes Dwayne Casey has a strange rotation. Here Jonas breaks Miami in the first quarter, and in the second half of the match just does not play. wtf? And secondly, last season he did less than 1 block per game, and this should be one of his strongest points. 0.3 steals per game is criminally low, did Bargnani teach him not to steal? Yes, good percentages both from the game and from the lane are pleasant, but I don’t know, it seems to me that Jonas will need to progress very well in order to justify this peak.
General impression: In general, it turned out to be a combat-ready team: Love, Batum and Bledsoe are a good core, the main thing here is that Eric has no injuries. It is interesting how Josh Smith will play, although his terrible percentage from the line can hardly be changed, as well as a large number of losses. Demarre Carroll under 135 also likes what is called the “glue guy”, he steals a lot, loses the ball a little, hits three from time to time. Of the weak categories - the percentage of the game and losses. From strong rebounds and three-pointers. My prediction is an exit to software.
Alkoteam
Best pick: (62) - Norlens Noel. Yes, Noel is a rookie and yes, he missed the whole season due to injury. But just by looking at his college stats and watching him play, he should be producing phenomenal defensive stats. Here you have steals with blocks + Fila's fast attack will give him the opportunity to make him under 8-9 rebounds. The potential is huge, as is the “minus” that he brings to the category of percentage from the line.
Worst pick: (11) - Damian Lillard. I am stable, and for the second year in a row, Lillard falls under my “worst pick” for the second year in a row. And if last year it was the 40th peak (and yes, I was wrong), but this year it is already the 11th. Lillard progressed last season, it's foolish to deny. But he averaged #30 per game, and the problem remained the same – where are the steals? Less than 1 steal to play for a top fantasy declarer is unacceptable. It is also not enough assists, less than 6. It is clear that there is a great percentage from the lane (which, however, will kill Noel) and three with points, and he plays 82 games, but for the 11th pick this is not enough. Enough for the 20th, but not for the 11th.
Overall Impression: Surprisingly, the move to Dallas didn't have a positive effect on fantasy for Monta Ellis. The number of three-pointers decreased, and he immediately fell into the 6th ten of the rating. Iguodala is a big question - what is his role in the HS? I don't think Kerr himself knows this. Well, the last 4 picks are a failure: OJ Mayo - do you still believe in him? I'm gone, and where does the game time come from? Now, if he had been with the Bucks last season, then yes…but wait, he was! JJ Hickson is also without playing time unless Farid breaks down. Similarly with Randle (why Boozer is in the Lakers, anyone tell me?), Felton misses the first games of the season due to disqualification + he has an ankle injury. Yes, and Nelson at the start, and Harris on the bench. As a result, points, threes and a percentage from the line were overwhelmed (thanks, Noel). Of the strong categories, I note rebounds and percentage from the game. My prediction is by software.
Alex's Amazing Team
Best pick: (61) - Derrick Favors. Brilliant Peak! Why Favors survived to 61 picks is beyond me. He averaged #48 last season, and he's only 23 years old. The new coach, Quin Snyder, is pushing a much more adequate offensive model where players need to run and not be dumb and look at Corbin's ties and Hayward's resistance jumpers. Potential 15 + 9-10 rebounds + 1.5 blocks with excellent field percentage is just great.
Worst pick: (97) - Andrew Wiggins. Hmm, everyone loves to draft rookies and they often draft too early. Ask any scout and they'll tell you right away, "Wiggins already defends well at the NBA level." All in all, I believe. But only judging by his statistics in college, this is more Luol Deng, and not Andre Iguodala in fantasy terms - i. e. protection is not transformed into styles. Add to that a whopping 1.5 assists in 33 minutes, a guaranteed low percentage from the field and more than 2 turnovers, and I personally don't want to spend 97th pick on Wiggins.
Overall impression: Cousins should make at least one triple-double with losses this year, and just do monsters. The middle of the draft is great, everything is on time and reasonable. Ashik seems to be a good pick with 133 picks, but that's debatable - he's so negative in the weak categories that fear takes over: less than 1 assist, more than 2 turnovers, about 0.5 steals, minimal scoring, terrible lane percentage. In life, of course, better than in fantasy. In general, there is a large shortage of assists: Conley does not give much, Jackson too, but I already wrote about Wiggins' support in this component. But there are no problems with rebounds and blocks. My prediction is the fight for software.
Pashka!
Best pick: (60) - Thaddeus Young. Young finished the season in the Top 35 for two consecutive seasons. Last season, he unexpectedly started throwing threes, which, as a result, resulted in a sharp deterioration in the percentage of the game. Yes, and partners from the D-League clearly contributed to this. This season I expect an increase in the percentage from the game (after all, only Phil this season is worse than last season Fila), the same elite indicators in interceptions, and a small number of losses. For me, Top 50 picks.
Worst pick: (121) - Evan Turner. Turner is one of the brightest examples, along with Lance Stevenson and Randolph, when rebounds, points and assists are striking, but low percentages, a large number of losses and a complete lack of blocks are not noticed. Over the entire last season, Turner made as many as 7 (!!) blocks, attacked from the field worse than ever, while converting less than 1 three, well, the ratio of assists to losses of 3.2 / 2.3 is also sad. I never draft him, he is my 200 pick player.
Overall Impression: You were seriously late in choosing a point guard (Kobe would have been useful, huh?))), so Augustine, Devin Harris and Brian Roberts magically appeared on your team. Yes, one is worse than the other. Augustine can shoot if Jennings gets benched, Harris at the start of the season when Felton is gone will be good, but it won't be as fun when he shows up, but Roberts will be out soon. Despite this, you are good with passes: Noah passes well, Hayward should give about 5 grand, and Evans should add 4 grand. But in general, the bad second half of the draft makes itself felt. Everything is good up to Beal's peak, but starting from Turner everything is sad. In the free agent market, you will have to work hard, and at the start you will be without Beal. Tyreke Evans is good for an 80+ pick, but last season was a disaster: he seemed to play a great game, and then he gets injured for a week and hangs like a dead weight on you. But maybe this year the Pelicans will be relatively healthy? If you can find decent players in SA, then you will fight for VP, and without them, you will definitely miss. My prediction is by software.
4eLOVE4ik's Team
Best pick: (23) - Kyle Lauri. I did not believe in Kyle last season, I thought that he would continue to break, but he gave a great season. This is due to several factors at once: the contract year, the departure of Gay, and the role of one of the leaders of the young team. How will it be this season? To be honest, I think/hope it won't change much: 18 points, 7-8 assists, 2 threes, steals. As a minus - a low percentage of the game. A great addition to Ibaka, which you took as the first pick.
Worst pick: (59) - Ryan Anderson. I'll be honest, as soon as I read / hear "Ryan Anderson", it immediately seems that he is injured - well, I can’t help myself)) If Ryan is healthy (and in the Pelicans it’s more IF), then the peak is justified, but I in this regard, conservative and do not hope so. It’s not even how much I don’t like the choice under 59 of spades, but the fact that Favors and Young were free, whom I will take in 10 cases out of ten before Anderson.
Overall impression: What can I say, in general, I like the team. There are no obvious peaks. I wonder how Ariza will play this season, after all, in the last contract season he threw from behind the arc with a high percentage - will he be able to keep the bar? It is also interesting what kind of Roy Hibbert we will see, we must hurry someone in Indiana. Yes, even the last peak of Copland looks interesting. If we talk about categories, then the styles are a disaster: on the one hand, there is Ariza with Lauri, on the other hand, all the others (except IT2) are TERRIBLE in this category. But I can single out threes, blocks and a percentage from the line as the strongest. It feels like you will get into the PO with a probability of 65 percent. My prediction is the struggle for the PO.
NastyHandles
Best pick: (87) - Patrick Beverly. Beverly is generally underrated, which is why he is usually picked much lower than he deserves. Beverley was in the Top 75 per game last season while sharing playing time with Lin. With Jeremy in LA this season, Parsons in Dallas, Beverly's role on the team is clear, so a Top 70 finish, why not? Yes, he has a strange statistic for a point guard: few assists, many blocks (last season he made exactly the same number of blocks as Pekovic), a lot of steals, a minimum of losses, 1.5+ threes. I like everything.
Worst pick: (130) - Manu Zhinobili. In general, not such a bad pick, and on average for a game, Manu will probably show numbers just for this peak. But the question is: how many games will he miss? For me, it was better here to take the young Burks or the stable Tucker with Carroll.
General impression: John Wall should make some progress this year + his health is only a plus. Bosch, Gortat, Pau, Beverly, Greek Freak - I like the middle, and stable veterans, and young players. Matt Barnes under 120+ is a good pick, but his preseason performance is really scary, bringing back memories of his games for the Lakers in PO (which is something I don't want to remember). Tony Routen is really a real replacement for the MKV, in the sense that prepare for a “triple threat”: specifically spoiling losses, percentage from the lane and percentage from the game. But the penultimate peak, why not. Moving on to the categories, Wall, Rowten, Bosch and Greek Freak drive losses into a serious minus. But, accordingly, there should be no problems with assists and blocks. But in order to get into the Top 6, you need either Bosch or Wall (or better, both) to give out super seasons, because. Wall was good last year, but only 27 per game. Therefore, my prediction is the fight for software.
peaceful atom_edge-2
Best peak: (52) - Zhru Day off. Will everyone in New Orleans be healthy this year? I doubt. But Holiday does not seem to have a trauma, so there is hope for his health. Styles, transmissions are his greatest strengths. On the other hand, he almost never throws from the line, he makes a lot of losses, and even Tyreke Evans is at the start (for how long?). But overall, I think it's a good pick. I myself wanted to take it with the next peak, but you beat me to it.
Worst pick: (57) - Lance Stevenson. Somewhere above, I wrote about Evan Turner and Zach Randolph as players who are traditionally overestimated. Same thing with Lance. Behind his triple-doubles hides a whopping 7 blocks for the whole of last season, a measly 0.7 steals and 71% from the lane. He wasn't even in the Top 100 last year.
Overall impression: To be honest, I don't like the team at all. Stevenson too early for 57 picks, Reddick given his injury history for 88, similar to Varezhao for 93rd. Draft Miles Plumley in front of his brother is not the wisest decision, Mason has much more potential. Kanter, of course, can shoot this year as well, he will throw threes (fumes))), but I have no confidence even in his playing minutes, he is a hole in defense. By category: there are serious problems with points, assists and percentage from the line (thanks to DeAndre), but, accordingly, rebounds, percentage from the game and losses are strong.
