Metalist 1:3. Metalist's return? ᐉ UA-Football
Ukrainian Premier League 2014/15. 12th tour
Dnepropetrovsk, stadium "Meteor"
Chief referee: Sergey Lisenchuk (Kyiv)
"Ilyichevets" (Mariupol) - "Metalist" (Kharkov) 1: 3
GOOLS: GOOLS: GOD Grin 28 - Javier 27 (pen.), Javier 35, Javier 74
Illichivets: Churilov, Tsyupa, Butko, Mishnev (Skoblov 86), Kulach, Datsenko, Yavorsky, Grin, Oberemko, Totovitsky (Mandzyuk 86) ), Shevchuk (Ochigawa 90+2)
"Metallist": Goryainov, Child, Kobin, Zhazha Coelho, Torres (Yu. Tkachuk 89), Javier, Edmar, Bolbat (Kulakov 64), Torsiglieri, Berezovchuk (Pshenichnykh 29), Villagra
Warnings: Mishnev 36, Yavorsky 62 - Torsiglieri 79
Of course, one should not overestimate the victory of last year's UPL bronze medalist over one of the outsiders of the current season. Nevertheless, Metalist, having outplayed his comrades in misfortune, in one fell swoop climbed from 10th place in the standings to fifth. And to "Zorya", which is in a position higher than the Kharkiv team, Rakhaev's wards are now separated by only two points. It is interesting that already in the next two rounds the Slobozhans will measure their strength with the Luhansk team, as well as with the closest pursuers, Poltava Vorskla. It is these meetings that will be able to answer the question - is Metalist returning to the leaders of Ukrainian football, and will the team fight this season for high places in the championship.
Illichivets Mariupol didn't look helpless in the match against Metalist, moreover, at the beginning of the meeting Pavlov's men looked more interesting than their opponents, they created some rather dangerous chances and could well have made a good start to achieve a positive result. Young players from Azov are gradually getting used to the rather high standards of the Premier League, and as soon as such players as Butko, Shevchuk, Totovitsky, who are the leaders of the team, reach their usual level, Illichivets will definitely begin to gain tournament points and get their first this season victory.
Perhaps Pavlov's team simply needs to wait for the winter off-season and with those performers who remained in the club, develop game connections, "run in" them in various combat conditions, preferably in friendly international tournaments, and prepare tactically. Mykola Pavlov is one of the few in Ukraine who is able to do this in a short period of time.
In the match against Metallist Kharkiv, 20-year-old Semyon Datsenko again started at the base, paired with experienced Serhiy Yavorsky, who formed a duo of central defenders. As well as 21-year-old Ivan Tsyupa, who performs well on the left flank. The right side of the defense was closed by Butko, who had already seen a lot in domestic football. Although Bogdan is also hard to call a mature player, he is only 23 years old. Despite this, the right-back of "Ilyichevets" is already leading the team to the field with the captain's armband. Oberemko and Mishnev were responsible for the middle of the field in Mariupol, and Totovitsky, as usual, acted in positions under the attacker, his friend Vladislav Kulach. The last three players are of the same age, who celebrated their 22nd anniversary this year. No less young Grin acted on the right flank, and the two oldest players, Shevchuk and Churilov, respectively, played in positions - the left midfielder and the goalkeeper.
"Metalist" has better-played players with experience in European competitions. Goryainov took a place at the gate, and we note that he played more than superbly, repelling several incredibly dangerous blows from Mariupol. Torsiglieri and Berezovchuk, as in the Europa League match, were supposed to be in charge of the center of defense, but Andrei was injured in the debut of the meeting and was replaced by Sergei Pshenichnykh. Edmar finally entered the field and, together with Torres, made up a pair of defensive midfielders. Javier has traditionally acted in the position of chief creative, supplying the only striker Zhazhu with good passes.
Bolbat did not play as brightly as usual in the meeting of the 12th round, perhaps because of his unusual position. An attacking midfielder played on the right flank, and in many moments he lost the fight to his opponents - Shevchuk and Tsyupe. The child on the left flank was also not particularly memorable, and Grin and Butko often turned out to be more active than Pavel, and if it weren’t for Kobin’s insurance, a serious trouble threatened the gates of the Slobozhans from the left side.
From the first minutes of the meeting, the pace was quite high, the teams regularly exchanged sharp attacks, and each of the opponents tried to finish his combination with a blow. In total, the two teams made almost 30 shots on goal (the most in the 12th round), although not all shots were on target.
Clayton Xavier, as one of the main characters of the meeting, from the first minutes aimed at Churilov's goal, and unlike most other shots, the leader of the Slobozhans almost always forced the goalkeeper to work hard. However, Javier was able to score his first goal from the penalty spot. Zhazha earned a penalty kick, again after a sharp, cutting pass from Clayton. Butko did not keep up with the Brazilian and was forced to foul on Metalist's only forward. The arbitrator pointed to the point without any hesitation, and Javier calmly implemented the verdict, spreading the goalkeeper and the ball in different angles.
To the credit of the Mariupol team, we have to admit that the conceded goal didn't upset them at all, the Azov team immediately got together and literally in a minute was able to restore the status quo. Grin, finding himself alone in front of the gates of Kharkovites, dealt with Goryainov in cold blood. Although the moment with this goal turned out to be ambiguous, the offside was more likely than not, but the Slobozhans did not finish the moment to the end, and instead of continuing the fight, all as one stopped and raised their hands, signaling the referee about the offside position. The team of referees did not believe the guest team and the ball was counted.
Angered by the unfair conceded goal (according to Slobozhans), Rakhaev's team went forward with great strength and organized several very good chances. Zhazha and Bolbat hit on goal - not entirely successful. Javier was more fortunate, who, after a pass from Kobin, was able to score, but the referees did not count the ball because of ... offside. Also very, very controversial. But no one could do anything with Javier's goal in the next attack. Defenders of "Ilyichevets" gave Javier too much space, the Brazilian in the central zone managed to handle the ball, aim and create a small masterpiece. From 17 meters, Clayton shot masterfully, in his own style, and the goalkeeper, no matter how hard he tried, did not reach the ball in a belated jump.
The score became 2:1 and Metalist moved forward less actively. Fans more and more often entertained themselves with the performance of an immortal hit about one inadequate person who calls himself the leader of a large desert northern country. However, there were still dangerous moments in the first half - Shevchuk, Totovitsky and Kulach shot from Mariupol from long distances, as a rule, inaccurately. And among the guests, Zhazha constantly escalated the situation at the gates of the Azov team, and Edmar also had the opportunity to score a goal, but did not use his chance.
After the break, the game became more rational, the players still often tried to shoot on goal, but they did it from more advantageous positions. Goalkeepers have increased their work, but neither Goryainov nor Churilov (despite three goals conceded) should be ashamed of their work. For example, in the 54th minute, the Mariupol goalkeeper pulled a completely hopeless shot from Zhazhi. Many saw the ball already at the goal, but by some miracle Churilov reacted and pulled the round ball out of the bottom corner.
Nevertheless, the Slobozhans scored the third goal. The standard brought success to Metalist. Kulakov, who appeared on the field after replacing Bolbat, crossed into the penalty area, the Azov team knocked the ball out, but on the second attempt Denis served much better, Edmar at the far post threw the ball under the blow of Javier, who, in a jump with his head, brought the ball into the goal. Churilov, no matter how hard he tried to knock out the leather sphere, could not. The goalkeeper himself at the time of Clayton's strike was deep in the gate. The third goal of Metalist's Top 10 put him in the sole lead of the UPL scorer race and ensured a psychologically important victory for the Kharkiv team.
The ending of the match turned out to be frankly lethargic, the nominal hosts no longer had the strength to attack, and the Slobozhans, as if mocking, rolled the ball in their own half of the field, occasionally moving beyond the central circle.
