A true basketball player knows that the right basketball shoe can really make a difference in their game.  When choosing a shoe, you need to pick one that is not only comfortable but is also light and supportive.

How much do basketball shoes cost?

Men’s basketball shoes will generally cost between $75 and $200.  This price will greatly depend on the brand, the cut, the size, and the store which is selling it.  Refer to our table below for the prices of the most popular brands on the market today.

Eastbay.com, for example, sells the newest Nike basketball shoes for about $160.

The Finish Line, on the other hand, sells the newest Adidas shoes for as little as $79.99.

Women’s basketball shoes are usually cheaper than men’s because of the size difference.  At The Lady Foot Locker, for instance, the top sellers retail for $60 to $95 on average.

Children’s basketball shoes are usually the same price range as women’s, sometimes even slightly cheaper.

According to this helpful eBay.com guide, most shoes can range from as little as $20 to more than $200.

Basketball ShoePrice Range
Adidas Crazyquick$35 to $75
Adizero$80 to $120
APL Basketball Shoes$115 to $180
Dwight Howard Sneakers$35 to $110
Jordan Basketball Shoes$80 to $200+
Hyperfuse$45 to $100
KB8 Shoes$50 to $150
Lebron Soldier 8$80 to $140
Nike KD5$50 to $100
New Balance 851$60
Reebok Zigtech$40 to $90

The materials and ankle height

Basketball shoes are commonly going to be made from either a plastic-based synthetic material or a raw material such as leather.  The plastic-based synthetic material is able to withstand damage better than a raw material and will allow your foot to breathe easier.  A raw material often feels better on the feet but won’t hold up as well.

Other parts of the shoe will include the laces, which can be a traditional shoelace setup or even through a new lacing system the manufacturer developed.  If the shoe doesn’t have laces, it will more than likely have a strap or zipper.

Basketball shoes will commonly come in the following ankle heights:  low, mid and high.  Low-tops are ideal for players who tend to be speedy and need to move around more since high top ankle supports tend to add firm support, limiting your movement.  Mid-tops are designed for players who tend to be an all-around player and play all sorts of roles on the court.  Lastly, a high-top is best for a position such as a center who consistently jumps and pivots.

What are the extra costs?

If your foot is larger than a size 14, many brands and stores will charge extra.

Cleaning kits can start at $5.  These are ideal for those that want to keep their shoes looking like new or for those who wear their shoes off the court.

An extra pair of laces, while optional, are ideal for those just in case the originals get dirty or torn.  Customized shoelaces are also available for those that want a different color selection.

Tips to know:

Try not to focus too much on the style because just because it looks pretty doesn’t mean it’s going to play pretty.

Pay close attention to the rubber thickness.  The thicker and softer the rubber is, the better the traction will be.  Most shoes designed for the outdoors will tend to be the thickest.

Try out your shoes in a store as every shoe is going to fit differently.  When trying a shoe on in the store, act as if you’re playing a game.  This is a good indicator on if the shoe is going to work out for you.

If you want to purchase online, there’s a way to make sure you purchase the right size.  Simply place your foot on a piece of paper with your athletic socks on.  From there, trace the outline of  your foot.  Once traced, measure your foot from the top of your longest toe to the bottom and subtract about .25 inches.  Do the same with the width of your foot as well.   With these numbers, use this Nike shoe fitting guide to see which size you need.  If you do purchase online, make sure you check out the store’s return policy in case the shoes don’t fit.

When wearing your shoe, keep in mind that you’re going to need to have your feet breathe.  Avoid shoes that are either too tight or shoes that don’t give you that much breathing room as this is going to cause a lot of sweating.  Consider purchasing shoes that have breathable material such as mesh or nylon.

A fun fact:  The most expensive basketball shoes every sold were the Nike Air Zoom Kobe 1, which sold for $30,000.

Top brands to consider:
  • Adidas
  • AND 1
  • Fila
  • Nike
  • Reebok

How can I save money?

If you know exactly where you want to purchase your shoes, consider buying a discounted gift card on Raise. com.  Depending on who you purchase from, this could save you up to 10 percent or more.  Also, if purchasing online, consider looking at eBates to see if you can get cash back by simply clicking their lick.

Look for bulk discounts.  Eastbay Team Sales, for example, gives discounts when ordering multiple pairs of matching shoes for a team.

Consider purchasing your shoes used.  Auction sites, such as eBay, are a great platform to save on your shoe purchases.   Be sure to ask the seller about how they have been used in the past, as you don’t want to purchase shoes that are too old.    Check out garage sales and Craigslist as well for deals as well.

  • In conclusion
  • To get closer to their basketball idols, young guys play basketball. In terms of health, the benefits of the game are undeniable. It can be used to improve health, as well as with the help of any physical exercise.

Basketball is a team sport. By playing basketball, you train your cardiovascular system in such a way that it has a beneficial effect on the body. Since in basketball you have to jump to hit the ball into the basket, you need strong and well-trained legs. For these purposes, it is necessary to use comfortable shoes, but only those that are of really high quality and can help the player to be more efficient in the game.

Real basketball shoes are obviously very expensive. In this article, we will talk about the ten most expensive basketball shoes in the world.

    Very expensive basketball shoes:

    10

    Nike Air Force One ($2500)

These shoes are available in any color and are the choice of every basketball player. This model is perfect for everyone, and even celebrities have been seen wearing these hotties many times, so it is obvious that this is a worthy shoe. According to a 2005 survey, these sneakers, made with the latest technology, are the most amazing shoes on the world market.

    9

    Air Jordan XI ($2700)

These are the special shoes worn by Michael Jordan in the latest NBA championship and also in the movie Space Jam, and these shoes have another feature - they cost relatively cheap if we compare these shoes with other jorden running shoes. But they are really very comfortable in the game.

    8

    Adidas Golden KB8 ($3000)

These shoes were made specifically for Briat Kobe for the 1998 Slum Dunk competition, but when Kobe parted ways with Adidas, these shoes were renamed the Crazy8. The uniqueness of the shoes lies in the fact that so far only two pairs of these sneakers have been made, which are released in yellow and black. They are still ranked 8th in the world in the list of the most expensive running shoes.

    7

    Air Jordan V ($10,000)

A rare combination of black and silver in sports shoes with the number 23 engraved on these sneakers is the reason why they make our list of expensive shoes. These sneakers have a strap lock and transparent rubber soles. This is a Jorden signature shoe model that was only available in shoe collections and not in mass sale in shoe stores.

    6

    Nike Air Mag ($12,000)

These shoes are the first shoe made by Nike to have a battery charging feature. This is the reason they are so expensive. The sneakers became popular when Michael Jordan was seen wearing them, and then Nike released 20 pairs of these amazing sneakers.

Several thousand hours have gone into making Nike shoes. But the end result is a shoe that has a 3,000-hour battery, an electroluminescent center piece with space-grade materials.

    5

    Air Jordan I ($25000)

This model was made in 1985 with only 12 pairs of shoes. But the Jorden I is still a very expensive shoe, because each pair is signed personally by Michael Jordan, and therefore basketball fans find this model of sneakers something of an attraction. The sneakers were made to match the colors of the Bulls uniform in a surprisingly successful combination of red and black. The shoes are also 100% waterproof.

    4

Nike Air Zoom Kobe I ($30,000)

When Kobe Bryant had conflicts with Adidas, he left the company in 2002 and collaborated with Nike to create his signature shoes. With these shoes, he became an NBA legend playing against the Toronto Predators. After such a winning performance, these sneakers won the hearts of the audience and received such a hefty price tag.

    3

    Air Jordan VI ($35,000)

This shoe was first introduced in 1991 when Michael Jordan played for the Bulls and they defeated the Lakers. This shoe is high-end and value-for-money, but it has some versatile features - reinforced materials in the toe area and special heel protection. The color scheme of these sneakers is also universal - white, sporty blue and white, maroon and black.

    2

    Air Jordan III ($50000)

Designed by Peter Moore for traction and flexibility, this shoe has made it into the top 10 most expensive basketball shoes for a reason.

The Air Jordan III made Michael Jordan a lucky winner when he won a Slam dunk event and won five MVP (Most Significant Player) awards. That's why these shoes are adored by Michael Jordan fans and can be bought at unrealistically high prices at basketball auctions. The shoe has the Jordan logo on it, so that also skyrocketed the price. And yet, these are not the most expensive basketball shoes.

    1

    Reebok Question ($65,000)

The most expensive basketball shoe in the world is the Reebok Question, and even though these shoes were released 19 years ago, they are still number one in the top ten most expensive basketball shoes. . This model of Reebok shoes, having appeared on the market, caused an incredible stir. Judge for yourself, 246 diamonds were used to make a pair of sneakers. The Reebok Question holds promise for durability and outsole traction.

There are some other features of this model:

    • translucent sole;
    • suede inserts,
    • leather upper,
    • comfortable Hexalite cushioning.

    Designed by Allen Iverson.
