NBA Salary Cap
The NBA sets a team salary cap each season and fines teams that spend more or less than the established maximum and minimum requirements. The salary cap for the 2019-2020 season is $109.14 million, and the minimum team salary is $98.226 million.
The minimum amount paid to an NBA player is always set at 90 percent of the salary cap. Or you can - for vague promises to become a top player in the NBA, as was the case with John Wall.
