How to stream the syracuse basketball game

How to stream Syracuse basketball’s full 2022-23 season: Schedule, TV channels, live stream

The Syracuse University basketball team will host the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at the JMA Wireless Dome on Monday, September 7 to open the 2022-23 basketball season, which includes 31 games scheduled through the beginning of March.

That includes 18 home games at the JMA Wireless Dome, including big rivalries and conference matchups like Duke and Wake Forest, and 13 games on the road including the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Illinois.

Fans who can’t make it to the game can still tune in all season long on live TV, or via live streams online. But navigating the best place to watch every Syracuse Orange basketball game can be complicated.

The games don’t always air on the same channel, and some aren’t even available on TV. Cord cutters also have to figure out which live TV streaming services, such as fuboTV or DirecTV Stream, have which channels. Use this guide to stream every Syracuse University basketball game all season long.

What TV channels are Syracuse University basketball games on?

Most Syracuse University basketball games air on the ESPN family of channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, ESPNU or ACC Network. Select games are also broadcast on the regional sports network, YES Network.

Channel finder: Verizon Fios, XFinity, Spectrum, Optimum/Altice, Cox, DirecTV, Dish

Just three games this season are unavailable on cable TV. Details below.

What is the best live TV streaming service for Syracuse University basketball?

When it comes to streaming services, only one will guarantee access to every single televised Syracuse University basketball game this season: DirecTV Stream. It is the only streaming service that currently carries YES Network, which will be the home of five Orange games this season. Here’s what to know about each streaming service:

DirecTV Stream is the only streaming service that offers YES Network, and that means it’s the only choice for the fan who absolutely must watch every Syracuse University basketball game. It’s a pricey option, but it includes a free trial. ACC Network, YES Network and ESPNU are available at the Choice Package level ($89.99/month).

DirecTV Stream’s Choice Package includes 105+ channels, Unlimited DVR storage and thousands of on-demand titles.

fuboTV has every game besides games on YES Network, which is still 26 total games this season. The service is $69.99 per month, but you’ll want the $9.99/month Sports Lite add on to get access to ACCN and ESPN U, for a total of $79.98/month. Fubo’s basic service includes 138 channels and 1000 hours of DVR space.

Hulu + Live TV is essentially the same service as fuboTV, from a Syracuse Basketball fan’s perspective, and it might even be a more attractive option. Access to ACCN and ESPN U are included in the basic $69/month rate, plus Hulu, ESPN Plus and Disney Plus are included at a major discount when you bundle. Hulu + Live TV includes more than 75 channels and Unlimited DVR storage.

YouTube TV is, again, similar to the previous two. You’ll still be missing YES Network, but you’ll have everything else including ACCN for the basic $64.99/month rate. YouTube TV also comes with more than 85 channels and unlimited storage space.

Sling is the cheapest option here, but still has a decent number of Syracuse University football games. You’ll need Sling Orange and the Sports Extra add on for a total of $46/month in order to get ACCN and ESPN U. There are some missing pieces though, beyond YES Network. Local channel availability, such as ABC stations, is spotty. In the Syracuse market, for example, Sling does not carry FOX, NBC, ABC or others.

What about streaming only games?

Three games this season will be on ACC Network Extra, which is not on cable TV. To watch these games, you must log in to ESPN.com or the ESPN App using your cable credentials, or an account from one of the streaming services above that includes ACC Network.

CSKA figured out why to play basketball in the Canary Islands. And set a record of

The return of Rodriguez home, the chicken in the stands and the difficult victory of CSKA - in the Match TV report from the Canary Islands, where for some reason they still play basketball.

Chacho is a star

Rodriguez's superpass and de Colo's three-pointer

— Chacho, can I have a photo with you? - this question is heard in almost every city in Spain, where CSKA Moscow comes to the Euroleague match, and a line is lining up for Sergio Rodriguez, the point guard of the army. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is no exception. The team is just getting down the stairs from the plane, and the airport employee asks Chacho to take a selfie together. The border guard in the window is joking with Chacho, who needs to be serious and focused for work. But Sergio is an idol here. In addition, the Canary Islands are his homeland, Rodriguez is a native of neighboring Tenerife.

Las Palmas is a popular resort of the Canary Islands, which is closer to Morocco than to mainland Spain, on all sides - the Atlantic Ocean. Christopher Columbus with his expedition on the way to the discovery of America made a stop on this island, so here is the Columbus Museum, and the street, and the square, and souvenir shops named after him. The population of the city is solid - almost 400 thousand people, like the Russian Belgorod. There is no feeling of a colony cut off from the mainland. As throughout Spain, in the most unexpected places you come across sports grounds combined for playing football and basketball.

Gran Canaria is a continuous coastline with beaches. 4800 hours of sunshine per year puts Gran Canaria in first place in Europe for this indicator. The average temperature on the island is about +22°C, so you can swim in the ocean and sunbathe even in winter. According to a study by Syracuse University (USA), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has the best climate in the world.

One can only guess how in such incredible conditions people find the strength to work, play sports, and not just wallow on the beach all day. How can you be in the Canary Islands and play basketball? I figured out CSKA.

Euroleague debutant

Photo: © Katerina Manina

Muscovites' rival is Euroleague debutant Gran Canaria. The club has existed since 1963 when it was a college team. There are no resounding successes, since 1995 the team has been constantly playing in the top league of the Spanish championship, the best achievement is 4th place in the national championship (thanks to which they got into the Euroleague), as well as the Spanish Super Cup. The club broke into the Euroleague thanks to qualifying matches.

A few years ago, the club moved from a small old hall to a new sports palace for 11.5 thousand spectators, but the full hall did not gather either for CSKA or for the previous Euroleague home match against Barcelona - a little less than 10 thousand people. The symbol of the club is a dog wearing a T-shirt. Naturally, canary color.

Star at 40 and a chicken in the stands

The main star of Gran Canaria, point guard Albert Oliver, is 40 years old. He made his debut in the Spanish national team at 39 in qualifying matches for the 2019 World Cup. I am sure that in 2013, when he was 35, he went to the Canary Islands to end his career, just like German pensioners go to the south for the winter - to warmth, a good climate, a leisurely life with an eternal Spanish tomorrow. But it turned out that he was on his way to the top of his career. Yes, he does not play in the starting five, but his exit to the floor is met by the roar of the stands.

The match against CSKA turned out to be tense, the game until the last quarter - "swing". The hosts lead, then the guests.

Here are some of the most spectacular moments. Super pass by Sergio Rodriguez, after which Nando de Colo scores a three-pointer.

Open video

CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis shows what every specialist should have in his arsenal to turn the tide on the floor. It is not necessary to know English to understand that the coach does not like something. In the first half, CSKA never took the lead.

Open video

And then Will Clyburn scores five points in a row.

View video

It was not until the middle of the third quarter that the guests took the lead for the first time, but soon Chacho got an unsportsmanlike foul (so what if he is local). The judges looked: the pens, here they are.

Open video

Well, the fans of Gran Canaria were better prepared for this match than the team. Most of the last quarter of the stands are sung. Chicken Man is our favorite!

https://twitter.com/EuroLeague/status/1055915412372709376

5 minutes before the end CSKA was leading only 2 points, and in the end won "+15". And it was perhaps the most dramatic climate change in the Canary Islands in the last 100 years. And 100 points on the scoreboard lit de Colo. Itoudis's team did not spend the final five minutes in a resort mode at all - and made it so that the final score did not show intra-match difficulties. And set a performance record: none of the guests in the current Euroleague has scored so much. 106:91 in the match, 4-0 - the balance of CSKA in the Euroleague table after 4 rounds. The same number - only in Madrid "Real".

How long is a college basketball game? Game Time NCAA

Basketball games are always an attraction at every level. Fans are interested not only in professional tournaments, but also in student basketball.

The Junior Basketball Tournament is organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The time depends on the level of the match.

How long is a college basketball game? The total playing time is about 2 hours 10 minutes.

A college basketball game consists of two halves of 20 minutes each. The halftime interval for NCAA games is 15 minutes. Overtime in college basketball is 5 minutes.

If you are still wondering about the length of different tournaments, let's find out with Scott Fujita in this article.

Men's college basketball game

How long is a college basketball game on TV?

With a total of two 20-minute halves each and a 15-minute break, a standard college basketball game should be 55 minutes long.

However, the total length of a TV match is often much longer. longer than that. Most NCAA matches last 2 hours and 10 minutes.

With that in mind, we have 40 minutes for the actual game, two 30 second timeouts for each team and three total timeouts. Total time 48 minutes.

One exciting thing you should note is that college games are typically 8 minutes shorter than NBA games. Despite this, the average length of live NCAA matches is less than a few minutes. The number of time-outs and the frequency with which teams shoot free throws during and after college basketball games are major causes of this problem.

Unlike NBA games, there are no quarters in men's college basketball games. . This means fouls will last an inning and not much time to reset. The more fouls a player commits, the longer the game lasts and the length of the game increases.

Each men's college basketball team will have four time-outs in a basketball game. Three of them lasted 30 seconds and only one timeout lasted 60 seconds.

They should have used a time-out in the first half, otherwise they would have conceded. The second half provides that each team can only stop the game three times.

In addition to the time-outs and half-times, four sets of TV waiting times are scheduled for each round. Their name "stop" appears on 16, 12, 8 and 4 in every game. If there is no stop at one of these four stages, it will be ignored.

How long will the women's college basketball game last?

Unlike a men's college basketball game, women's games typically last 2 hours with four 10-minute quarters.

Women's basketball games used to last as long as men's. In 2015, new rules changed the format of the game. The use of four quarters is entirely in line with other major leagues. These matches also include a break between the 2nd and 3rd half.

During the game, each team is allowed about four time-outs, similar to the men's game. Despite this, there are no restrictions on when women's groups can use them.

Longest NCAA basketball games of all time

In addition to the longest NBA game, some people are curious about the longest NCAA game in history. Let's find out in this section.

Bradley Vs. Cincinnati

Bradley vs. Cincinnati (1981)

The basketball game between Bradley and Cincinnati on December 21, 1981 was the longest NCAA game. After six innings, both teams were tied. It wasn't until the 7th overtime that Cincinnati got the better of Bradley.

This match lasts about 4 hours, from 19:30 to 11:20. Interestingly, the score in this match was relatively low, 75-73.

Connecticut Vs. Syracuse (2009)

On March 12, 2009, Connecticut faced Syracuse in a game that went to the sixth overtime in the quarterfinals of the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament.

Syracuse were the winning team with a score of 127-117. The match lasted a total of 3 hours and 46 minutes. You can watch a recording of this college game here.

How long is an NBA game?

A typical NBA game usually lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. . This number is not fixed as many factors can directly affect match times.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) specifies that each round of an NBA basketball game must be approximately 12 minutes long. With four games, the total playing time will be up to 48 minutes. Extra time of these matches lasted 5 minutes.

There will be a 15-minute break between rounds 2 and 3, but this is only theoretical. Some issues can cause a basketball game to last longer than expected, up to about 2 hours in a real game. Compared to FIFA games, these matches last longer.

How long will FIBA games last?

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) stipulates that each basketball game will consist of four quarters. With a total playing time of 40 minutes, each basketball quarter will last 10 minutes. We see that the duration of FIBA basketball games is slightly shorter than the duration of NBA games.

This tournament also establishes the following break rules:

  • Each team is given 20 minutes to prepare before the start of the competition
  • There will be a short break of 2 minutes between the first and second half.
  • In order for both teams to change the field and proceed to the next half, the break between the 2nd and 3rd half is 15 minutes.
  • Break between the 3rd and 4th quarters - 2 minutes.
  • There will be a break of 2 minutes in extra time.
  • If both teams play four quarters and still do not find a winner, they will go to extra time. The team with the most points in the first overtime wins.
  • Otherwise, the two teams will continue to play in the next extra time.

When the FIBA end of round alarm goes off, the halftime break will start.

How long is a high school basketball game?

High School Basketball Game

Under NFHS rules, a high school basketball game will have four quarters. Each round lasts 8 minutes with a 10 minute break in between.

People don't usually use clocks for school games. However, there is still a rule that graciously turns the game clock running if a team leads by a certain number of points in the second half. This rule only applies in a few states.

Each state has different rules, so there will be different criteria for time regulation and clock management.

Junior basketball game lasts less - 1 hour 30 minutes. These matches also span four quarters of 6 minutes each. In some states, the playing time for each quarter may be up to 8 minutes.

The break is 10 minutes long and junior basketball games usually don't have a shot clock. If the allotted time runs out and the two teams are still tied, 5 minutes will be added.
