The NBA regular season is not going to change the League logo in honor of the legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant, who died in a plane crash.

The league is not interested in changing the current logo, despite the 2 million petition signatures collected by fans. This was reported by the press service of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.

“According to Yahoo Sports, the League is not interested in changing the current logo. The NBA does not want the logo to be associated with a specific player, since the League has been influenced by a large number of outstanding players during the development of the League, ”the message says.

Two-time Olympic champion 41-year-old basketball player Kobe Bryant was reported to have died in his own helicopter crash on January 26, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others on board. Basketball fans wanted the silhouette of Kobe Bryant to appear on the NBA logo. The corresponding petition gained more than 150,000 signatures in the first few hours alone.

Bryant ended his career in 2016. He was an 18-time NBA All-Star, 17 of them in a row. Five-time NBA champion and two-time Finals MVP. Throughout his 20-year career, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers.

How many players are on an NBA team?

Each NBA team has fifteen players. Twelve players are considered part of the active roster and may dress up for the game. The remaining three are inactive or in reserve. Each team has five players at the same time. According to the rules in the NBA, there are no special positions. The positions are more dependent on the different roles the coach plays on the court.
