A fade Away jump shot employs the same S.E.D.R.S. concepts except you push away from the basket. You also need to turn/rotate your shooting shoulder to the basket to aligning your shot. This turning/rotating action generates your power for the fade away. The finished position for your fade away is identical to a regular jump shot the difference being on how you arrive there.

HAND PLACEMENT
On a Layup, your shooting hand is on the side of the ball. It rotates 90 degrees to an overhand or underhand layup.
If you can rotate your palm on a layup you can do it on a Jump shot or Fade Away Jumper.

1. Aim 11″ past the front of the rim, 2. Follow the flight of the ball, 3. Shoot through your dominant eye.
Dip= You dip while shooting a fadeaway.
No need to dip while dribbling since your already in your dip.
Release= Is based on alignment.
You must have your shooting shoulder in alignment with the rim before you can release your shot.
This is why right-handed players can release their shot earlier in their fadeaway motion on the left side of the court.
The release will be longer fading away on the right side since your shooting shoulder needs more time to rotate into alignment.

SWEEP & SWAY= Your Sweep becomes a
1 legged sweep of your shooting leg.
Your shooting leg sweeps forward while your off-hand leg becomes the leg you land on. For a right-handed shooter, you sweep with your right leg, land with your left leg.
You must rotate your shooting shoulder to the Basket, this turn is critical for alignment and power for your fade away. You will end up in the same position as a normal jump shot.
The ending of your fade away looks identical to your jump shot. Ultimately the S.E.D.R.S. principles hold true on all types of shots.
It is very difficult to perform a fade away without aligning your shooting shoulder towards the basket.
The fadeaway jumper confirms what we already know to be true that the Turn in your sweep & sway is a fundamental component of your shooting mechanics.

2. How do you evaluate your own performance?
I am glad that we managed to launch all the projects from the program with which I went to the polls. Many of them (such as, for example, the training of young players) involve a long period of implementation, and there is still a lot of work, but we see progress and do not give up.
One of the most positive moments I consider getting both of our 3x3 basketball teams to the Olympic Games in Tokyo. With the refusal of budget funding for professional clubs, the issue is more complicated. Indeed, most of our clubs operate on a different model than in the West. We urge clubs to be more active in their sponsorship efforts, but local sponsors may not provide meaningful support in all regions, and major companies tend not to be interested in lower-division clubs. However, these clubs attract students from local sports schools, stimulate the influx of students into sports schools, perform important social functions, and the rejection of budget funding can put an end to their work.
5. You often mention “reforms”. What are these reforms? Where can you find out about them?

The federation's internal structure and our approach to launching new programs have undergone changes. We strive to launch not one-time, but long-term projects, although we understand that the return on them will not come immediately. Now each new project is evaluated in terms of efficiency (with the definition of implementation timeframes, expected results, criteria for evaluating success, etc.) and long-term financial security. Only such projects “go to life”.
The approach to the preparation of the reserves has undergone changes: the first viewings of players begin already with the Minibasket festival, and the preparation of national teams under 16 begins two years before the start of the European championships. The format of the Russian Championships has also been changed.
The judging system has been completely reformed. A formula for calculating the rating of judges and commissioners has been developed, which maximally excludes the influence of the human factor. Expert commissions appeared - Review and Disciplinary, which control the quality of refereeing.
6. Everyone involved complains about the catastrophe in children's basketball: low salaries for coaches, bad halls, widespread corruption. Dyachok, one of the leaders of the RFB, revealingly sends the child to Spain. Does RSE have any plans to change the situation here?
Unfortunately, we are not able to solve all problems at once, especially since the issue of coaches' salaries, as well as the fight against corruption, is outside our jurisdiction.
Nevertheless, we try to help sports schools and coaches: we provide schools with basketballs for free, we help them buy equipment, and we negotiate with partners to install cameras in the halls to broadcast games. In addition, sports schools and coaches who have trained players who have moved to professional clubs receive payments from the Reserve fund. We monitor the progress of children's coaches, try to involve them in work with reserve teams, send them to study at FIBA.

8. You came to the RFB with big plans: you broadcast the NBA, SIBUR opened venues, the NBA held the Junior NBA, launched RFB-TV, the Moscow Federation organized the Expo-Basket… All these projects were eventually closed, and no new ones appeared. Why?
Due to the significant time difference, live broadcasts of NBA matches did not arouse sufficient interest among the audience, so the decision was made to abandon them. The Sibur company continues to implement the program for the construction of sites and the training of coaches, for which we are very grateful to her. I judge progress by results. The last season was one of the most successful for the reserve teams. For the first time, both of our teams under 16 entered the World Championships. And this happened largely due to the fact that we started training for this age long before the start of the European championships.
In women's basketball, we have bright young stars, for example, Anastasia Kosa, who at the age of 14 became the European champion and received the title of the most valuable player. I expect that it is the players of the team that played last year at the European Championship that will soon begin to join the national team, which is having a hard time with the generational change. And many players from the junior team under 20 are already playing in professional clubs.
11. Don't you think that the RFB - being a public organization - should be more open and transparent? Firstly, we do not know anything about the organization's financial affairs (and the Federation's budget was opened even under Anikeeva). Secondly, after the fact, it is revealed to the public that in the Federation, an active agent worked as the head of the reserve training department, who helped his players.
Your example clearly demonstrates that the openness of the budget is not a sufficiently effective protection against its, shall we say, misuse. If the budget under the previous leadership was open to the public, then it is not clear to me where the public was looking.

13. For example, the punitive measures of the RSE - against the referees or against Arsenal - raise questions from the outside, because the evidence base is very often scarce. Are you satisfied with this situation in 2020?
What do you understand by punitive measures? Here, for example, you are driving a car and slip through a red light or drive into the oncoming lane. What will be the consequences? I believe that punishing violations is one of the most effective ways to prevent their recurrence.
In the case of Arsenal, neither the National Center for Arbitration for Sport nor the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport considered the evidence base to be poor, acknowledging the club's violation of the principles of fair sporting competition. We are constantly negotiating with regional authorities on the construction and reconstruction of basketball infrastructure facilities.

For example, as far as it is known from open sources, the majority of Superleague-1 clubs at the summer meeting in the RSE were against the inclusion of Vostok-65 and Spartak in the number of participants in the championship. Their opinion was not heeded, and in the course of this season, both clubs had problems with financing. Why is that?
After the end of the 2017/18 season individual clubs did not support the very idea of expanding the Superleague to 16 teams, but the next season showed that the championship only won from an increase in the number of participants.
With regard to financial difficulties, many clubs have faced them this season, having previously demonstrated stability in this matter.
16. For example, in Super League-1 all these years the competition format has been constantly changing, but in Super League-2 you can't figure out what's going on at all. Why doesn't the RBF come to some kind of stability and format that would be interesting to the fans?
If we do not try different variants of the competition, we will not be able to determine the optimal format that will be interesting for both clubs and fans. To date, we see the format of the 2019/20 season as the best option. This also applies to the Cup of Russia, the final matches of which gathered full halls.
The other day we held a meeting with the leaders of the clubs of the First Superleague, and they noted the improvement in the quality of the championship and the interest in it from the audience.
17. For example, how successful do you think the fight against betting and corrupt refereeing has been over the past five years?
The work of the RSE in this direction is one of the most effective. Of course, someone will always be dissatisfied with refereeing. But now the clubs have the opportunity to apply to the Review Commission if they have questions about the refereeing of the match, and get an expert opinion. All games are broadcast online, which also significantly reduces the ability to influence their results.
Fighting rates is, unfortunately, more difficult. However, here too there are certain results. We spoke to the Ministry of Sports with an initiative to ban betting on children's and youth competitions, and a little over a year ago such a ban was enshrined in law.
18. Why are Super League matches broadcast in such an inconvenient way, and not on YouTube, as all other leagues do?
Inconvenient for whom? Let's start with the fact that broadcasts of absolutely all competitions, starting with the Russian Championships (which has never happened before) and ending with Premier League matches, are free. These matches can be watched on the RBF website, in its social networks, on the World of Basketball channel. We are constantly working to improve the quality of broadcasts.
Yes, registration is required to view games on the site. It does not take much time, while allowing us to get to know our viewers better and establish contact with them, informing them about our events, inviting them to matches, etc.
As for the YouTube platform itself, it is inconvenient for many people in terms of its functionality. The RBF player allows clubs to download match records from our server for internal use or, for example, quickly find a video of a desired game moment by simply selecting it from the list in the Game Progress tab. In a word, it is more adapted to basketball and suits us better than the universal YouTube.
19. In Moscow, four children's schools were transformed into one. Coaches are opposed. Why does the RSE not react to this situation in any way, even when Vitaly Nosov brought it into the public field by directly addressing the President of the RSE?
This issue is within the competence of the Department of Sports and the Basketball Federation of Moscow.
20. Now the RFB is planning to introduce an age limit in the Super League. Many believe that this will be the death of regional basketball, as qualified players will simply not be enough and clubs will lose funding. Why do you think otherwise?
Now we are discussing with the clubs their vision of this issue.
Let's not forget that one of the main goals of the championships is to prepare players for national teams that need an influx of young players who have experience playing not only against their peers, but also against older players. It is this kind of experience that helps young people to progress. Stanislav Georgievich Eremin has repeatedly said that it is the Superleague that should become the main supplier of players for the national teams.
I don't think that the rejuvenation of the squads can negatively affect the financing of the clubs, because the requirements for the squad are the same for all participants, which means they are in an equal position.

Natalya Galkina is one of the top leaders in basketball. It is well known and has established itself not only in Russia. It seems to me very indicative that she was elected to the FIBA-Europe Bureau, having received the maximum number of votes from her European colleagues. 22. Doesn't it bother you that your team consists mostly of people close to you? Meanwhile, Anna Arkhipova, who brought up the best players in the women's team, left the RFB after the appointment of Lange (which then failed).

Basketball has become much more open and accessible over the past five years. 24. What does the RFB do to train qualified coaching and refereeing personnel?
This year will be the third module of RBF training seminars for coaches working with young players. Such seminars are held in various regions, often in cooperation with the largest universities in the field of physical culture, leading Russian and foreign experts.
Seminars for judges are now held twice a year: before the start and in the middle of the sports season. The educational-methodical commission analyzes the typical mistakes made by referees, prepares explanations for the application of the rules and communicates them to all referees.
25. Don't you think it's a mistake that the RFB gave away the rights to host the Russian Championship to the VTB League for nothing?
I don't consider transfer of rights to be a mistake. The League holds the Championship at a high level, makes cool events, the same All-Star Game, for example.
26. Don't you think that the RFB should insist on expanding the VTB league with Russian clubs?
We operate within the framework of the law, according to which the right to determine the composition of participants belongs to the League. Of course, the RFB will only be happy if the Superleague club moves to a higher level, but this is a matter of negotiations between the club and the League. So far, we are seeing an increase in the number of farm teams of Super League clubs in the Youth Championship held by the VTB League, which we consider a positive development.
27. At the same time, citizens of Belarus were no longer considered legionnaires, that is, there were even fewer places for Russian players. Is this measure fair when the Russian team has to look for players in the lower leagues?
The decision that the citizens of Belarus in Russian competitions will not be considered legionnaires was not made by us, this is a decision of the Ministry of Sports, which affected not only basketball and which we must comply with.
On the other hand, now among the Russian players the competition for a place in the club, playing time will intensify, and they will have an additional incentive to work hard on themselves and improve their skills.
28. At the same time, the contributions of Super League clubs, which are getting smaller every year, do not decrease at all. How do you feel about the fact that there are fewer and fewer teams in Russian basketball?

Stern soft and hard
Stern liked to call himself Easy Dave, which can be translated as "easy Dave" and "easily inferior Dave. " But among those around him, he earned a reputation as a tyrant. In 2005, Stern became concerned about the image of the players and introduced a dress code. At official NBA events, they were ordered to stick to business attire, abandoning shorts, wide pants, massive chains, bandanas and other attributes of gangsters and hip-hop fans.

In 2004, during a match, the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers teams fought - first with each other, and then with the audience. For many years, Stern explained this decision briefly in all interviews: “It was in the interests of basketball.” And only two years ago, already retired, he condescended to details: “I offered the best option <...> But [Dell, who was in charge at that time of New Orleans] Demps, turned out to be a lousy general manager” (quoted from Championat.com). What is a lockout? . The first lockout began in the summer of 1995 and stretched out for two months, but ended before the start of the season. Only the summer fees suffered. The second lockout lasted only three hours in 1996. The third lasted from July 1998 to January 1999, due to which the start of the season had to be postponed and the number of games in it was reduced from 82 to 50. The last one was from July to December 2011 ., due to which the season was reduced to 66 games.
Player income was the key issue. For example, during the 1996 three-hour lockout, basketball players demanded more TV revenue, and the NBA agreed to increase payouts by a compromise amount.
Stern represented club owners during the lockouts who wanted to save money on players, but played more of an intermediary role. Reviews about him were mixed. Stern threatened the players. “I know where the bodies are buried in the NBA — I personally buried some there,” he said, appearing in the locker room of the basketball players during Star Weekend.
