How to Install a Basketball Net Without Hooks?
When it comes to basketball one of the things I absolutely hate and can’t stand is a basketball rim without a net. What’s worse is a basketball rim without a net and hooks to put a net on it. You pull up to a basketball court, and the net isn’t there. I much rather play on a broken net dangling from the rim than no net at all.
How to install a basketball net without hooks is fairly easy. There are a couple of ways you can do so, with a ladder, you will need to climb up high enough so can be within a good reach of doing one of the following to install a net onto the hoop. You could use tape and simply tape the loop string of the net to the rim, second option is to cut the loops and tie them through the opening, 3rd option is to thread them through the loops and tie them.
Follow along while we go through each method in doing so. The idea with these methods is a permanent fix and not a temporary one, as it may be difficult to get the net off if you need to. More on that later.

Installing a Basketball Net To a Hoop Without Hooks
The most annoying thing as a basketball player besides weak foul calls and ball hogs is a basketball hoop without a net. No netting makes it more difficult to shoot the basketball and see if the ball actually went into the hoop.
This drives me crazy, what makes it worse is the fact that there are no hooks. We can fix that, basketball nets are fairly cheap and easy to install once I show you these methods. No hooks, no problem.
The joys of having a new net installed on a rim, make an old basketball hoop feels like new again. Whether you are installing a net to a well-known basketball court rim or on your own adjustable hoop, it makes basketball much more enjoyable.
The first method for installing a net without any hooks is as follows:
The Tape Method
I saw this method done when I was really young, a couple of basketball players went to a court while I was playing on the opposite side hoop. Both hoops didn’t have a net, one of the players lifted his friend by putting him on his shoulders and he was able to reach up and tape the net on the rim.
The cool thing about this was they yanked the net off after they were done. I do not recommend putting a friend on your shoulders, use a ladder instead, but your young your going to do what you feel, who am I to stop you.
Step 1: You need tape, It can be any tape, scotch tape will work. A ladder that is tall enough to reach the rim while standing on a comfortable step, and a basketball net.
Step 2: Put a 2-inch piece of tape on every loop of the basketball net, try to make sure the piece of tape is in the middle of the top of the loop.
Step 3: Set up your ladder directly underneath the hoop. In one hand hold the net and walk up the ladder to a comfortable step on the ladder where you can reach the rim no problem. Hold on to the rim for support.
Step 4: Put the basketball net hoop below the rim, wrap the tape around the top of the rim one at a time. With 12 hoops on the basketball net, it will be strong enough to support the ball going through the rim and net.
If you want to take the net off the hoop you will have to keep the tape loose on the rim.
The Knot Method
Here is a video that perfectly explains this next method, it fairly simple as long as the rim has the holes in the rim like the above picture, you can try this method out. You really don’t need the zip ties as he recommends in the video.
Rope & Loop Method
Basically this method looks complicated but is easy to do. You will notice the picture above there is a black string thread through the holes of the rim while the blue basketball net hangs from that black rope/string.
Step 1: You need a basketball net, a piece of rope, some scissors, and a ladder.
Step 2: Get a rope long enough to be threaded through the basketball net, if you need to shorten the rope cut the desired length, you may also use a long rope and cut it after you tie it up.
Step 3: Set up your ladder directly underneath the hoop. In one hand hold the net and walk up the ladder to a comfortable step on the ladder where you can reach the rim no problem. Hold on to the rim for support.
Step 4: With the rope and the basketball net, thread the rope through the hole and the net at the same time. This will be tricky to hold so you may need someone to help. Going around the rim in each hole in order, thread the rope through the hole and the loop on the net at the same time. You should be threading the hoops hole in and out of the rim.
Step 5: Note at first when you are threading the rope through the holes, everything will be very loose and feel like it isn’t working. But once you get through all the holes pull both ends of the rope together and tie it . It should all come together tightly. You can cut the excess rope to the desired length.
Cut & Tie Method
If the rim has holes but has no hooks follow this method.
Step 1: You will need a net, a pair of sharp scissors, and a ladder.
Step 2: Take the large hoops on the net that are supposed to hang from the rim and cut them all.
Step 3: Set up your ladder directly underneath the hoop. In one hand hold the net and walk up the ladder to a comfortable step on the ladder where you can reach the rim no problem. Hold on to the rim for support.
Step 4: One by one you are going to tie the cut loops which now have two ends because we cut them. Thread one through and tie both ends together. Going around in a circle one by one till all of them are tied. You cut the excess net if you want from the knot.
If the rim does not have holes or hooks like the picture above, this method is simple it doesn’t need much explaining, it’s my least favorite way but if you don’t care and feel like you have no choice, by all means, use this method at your discretion
Step 1: You will need a net, a pair of sharp scissors, and a ladder.
Step 2: Take the large hoops on the net that are supposed to hang from the rim and cut them all.
Step 3: Set up your ladder directly underneath the hoop. In one hand hold the net and walk up the ladder to a comfortable step on the ladder where you can reach the rim no problem. Hold on to the rim for support.
Step 4: One by one you are going to tie the cut loops which now have two ends because we cut them. Wrap them around the rim trying to make a knot as close to the tips of the two ends. You do this to every cut loop and tie them.
That’s it make sure you are tying both ends around the rim, the knots should be above the rim with you could also cut the excess netting from the knot.

When you think of basketball hoops you usually imagine them with a net around the rim. There are basketball hoops that don’t have nets, usually outside at a public park. It’s not always intentional sometimes the net gets old and needs to be replaced, but it doesn’t.
It isn’t necessary for a basketball hoop to have a net in order for you to play basketball, but there are reasons for it. Installing a net isn’t a difficult process, whether the hoop is portable, in-ground, a kid’s hoop, etc. If you’re installing for a brand new basketball hoop or just replacing your current net, the process is similar just with a few extra steps.
The Reason You Should Have a Net
Although having a net isn’t necessary in order to play a game of basketball, not having one on the hoop can change the results. The net helps slow down the ball when it goes in the hoop. The ball slowing down allows everyone (players, fans, officials) to be able to see that the ball actually made it in.
It can be hard to tell if a shot was made when you play with a hoop that doesn’t have a net because it is going at whatever speed it was at when it left the shooter’s hand.
The net is aimed at the ground, so when a ball goes through it, it is much easier to get the ball as it is going straight down versus having the ability to bounce around the court because it had no guidance and restriction. Also, who doesn’t love hearing the classic sound of a swish the net makes when a shot is made?
What Net is Right for Your Hoop
Before installing a net, have to buy one! You don’t want to just pick up the first one you see because all nets are not the same, even though by eye they make look similar.
Durability
Durability is what you want out of your basketball net, no one wants to be buying a net every other month cause it’s warn out. If you play often, you especially want to find one that has great durability as your net will wear faster. T
o find out if a net is durable you must pay attention to the weight of the net. The heavier the net, the more durable it is.
Sizing
You can’t install a net if it’s too small or too big for your net. Nets are commonly made to fit regular rims, but you can never be too sure. You will want to check and make sure the measurements of your rim and net match.
Quality
The material of your net will affect how long it lasts. If your basketball hoop is outside, in order for the net to withstand harsh weather conditions the best, you will want one with tightly woven synthetic fibers. Nylon nets will be cheaper in price and polyester nets are still priced reasonably. Chain nets are also an option.
Tools You Will Need
To install your hoop you will need:
A new basketball net
Scissors
A step ladder
You may need someone to help spot you while you are on the ladder.
How to Install a Basketball Net
Before installing your net put it on the ground or hold it in both hands spreading it so you can differentiate between the small and large diameters. The larger diameter will be what you connect to the rim and the smaller diameter is the bottom of the net. Once this is done, you’re ready to install.
Step 1: Ladder Setup

If your basketball hoop can adjust low enough, you won’t need a ladder. If it is too tall for you, a ladder will be necessary. Make sure both your hoop and ladder are secured. You will want your ladder placed in front of the hoop under the rim and in the center of it.
Step 2: Remove Current Net From the Hoop
If your hoop still has the net you’re replacing on it, you will need to cut it off. When you are standing on your ladder carefully take the scissors and cut the loops near the rim. If your net has hooks you will want to pull whatever remains out of them.
Step 3: Put Net Loop Through the Hook
When your rim hooks are completely clean it’s time to get your new net on the hooks. Grab one of the net loops placing it between your thumb and index finger. Once it is in the proper place between your fingers, you will want to squeeze the loop and push it from the inside of the hoop through the hook towards the outside of the rim.
Step 4: Tying and Tightening the Loop
Take the net loop and open it up just wide enough for you to loop it around the front of the hook. Have one hand holding the loop in place and use your other hand to pull the net loop from inside the rim. Do this till the loop is firmly tighten in the rim hook.
Step 5: Hook the Rest of the Loops
Once you have the first loop completely hooked, the rest is easy. You will repeat steps 3 and 4 with all remaining loops until your net is all the way around the rim. Standard nets usually have 12 hooks, so make sure that you have all 12 loops around the rim. Make sure the loops are not getting tangled during this process.
Step 6: Pull the Net Downwards
The last step to installing a net is by holding the bottom of the net and pull firmly downwards. Doing this will help straighten and stretch the net while making sure the loops are tightly attached to the net.
Two Methods to Install a Net to a Hoop Without Hooks
You may be installing a net to a hoop without hooks. This isn’t an impossible task and there are several methods that you can use for this. Here are two methods for net installation without hooks. You will need the same tools mentioned above.
Cut and Tie Method
When the rim has no hooks, just holes, this is a good method to follow.
Step 1: Cut the loops
Cut all 12 of the loops on the net that are a part of the larger diameter. These are the hoops that will go on the hoop.
Step 2: Set up your ladder
Place your ladder directly under the hoop. Make sure you are at a height to reach the hoop without problems.
Step 3: Push loop ends through and tie
Take one of the two ends of a cut loop and push it through the hole. Once you push it through use the other end of the loop and tie them together. Repeat this until all your loops are tied around the rim.
Step 4: Secure the net
Firmly tug the bottom of the net to make sure all loops are securely tied to the rim.
Hoop Knot and Zip Tie Method
The hoop knot and zip tie method is a good method to use for metal park rims with no hooks.
Step 1: Grab the loop
Grab one loop between your index finger and your thumb and put it upwards through the inside of the rim. You then want to bring the loop down the outside of the rim.
Step 2: Wrap the loop
When the loop is outside of the rim wrap it around underneath itself. Save a space big enough to put the loop through.
Step 3: Pull and tie the loop
Pull the loop through space and pull both ends to tie tightly. There should be a small loop on the outside of the tie.
Step 4: Secure with zip tie
Take a zip tie and feed it through both the rim and loop and then synch it tightlitky. Lastly take your scissors and cut off the excess zip tie.
Chain Net Installation

Installing chain nets may be the simplest process of all as it requires the least amount of steps.
Step 1: Identify loops
See which loops are slightly larger than the chain links, these will be the top of your net.
Step 2: Put loop on a hook
Take your first loop and simply slide it over a hook. It doesn’t matter which loop you put with which hook. No look has a specific position.
Step 3: Secure and test
Once you have put the first loop on a hook continue this process till your chain net is around the entire hoop. To make sure the net is good, shoot a ball several times into the net.
Final Words
Having a net for your personal hoop isn’t a dire need. A game can still be played without a net, but the results and experience won’t be the same. Installing a net has several different methods and all are only a few steps so there’s no need to fear a replacement.

Unlock package locks
Turn the packing lock counterclockwise 90 degrees.
Remove the package lock.
INSTRUCTIONS
Battery removal and installation
Make sure the device is turned off.
Locate the battery cover on the back of the device, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and open the battery compartment.
Remove old batteries by pulling on one end of each battery.
Install 4 new AA batteries (AM-3 / LR6) following the diagram inside the battery compartment. (Alkaline batteries or fully charged NiMH rechargeable batteries are recommended for best performance.)
Close the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
WARNING Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
Insert batteries with correct polarity (+ and -).
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (zinc-carbon) or rechargeable batteries.
Use only approved batteries of the same or equivalent type.
Do not short circuit the power terminals.
Remove batteries when not in use for a long time.
Remove dead batteries from the toy.

GETTING STARTED
With the KidiGoTM basketball hoop, safety is paramount. To ensure the safety of your child, allow only an adult to assemble this product.
Hold the rim vertically and slide it down into the shield as shown. Then rotate it away from the back panel until you hear it click into place.
Slip the loops at the ends of the net onto the hooks at the bottom of the rim.
NOTE This product is in Try-Me mode in the package. To enter normal playback mode, first turn on the device. Then press and hold the restart button for a few seconds to resume normal play. If the device turns off or the lights go out while playing, install a new set of batteries.
MOUNTING THE BOARD
The included door hooks fit most doors. To mount them above the door, proceed as follows:
Insert the hooks into the backrest.
Slide the hooks down the top of the door. Note: If you cannot hang the shield above the door or prefer it lower, you can also use your own mounting hardware and the keyholes on the back of the shield to hang it.
PROPERTIES
Power Button Press Power Button to turn on the system. Press the button again to turn it Off.
Volume button Press the volume button repeatedly to select one of four volume settings.
Game Selector Press Game Selector to select from five game modes.
Player Select Button Press the Player Select Button to select up to five players in multiplayer game modes.

Auto-Off To prolong battery life, the KidiGo™ Basketball Hoop will automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes without input. The system can be switched on again by pressing button Power button.
GAME MODES
Free Play Create your own games! Lights and sounds play while the scoreboard counts your baskets.
Challenge score Press the player select button to set the number of players and see who scores the most goals in one minute.
Challenge of time Make a basket before all the lights on the shield go out! As you keep walking and leveling up, the lights will go out faster and faster.
Color Challenge Shot time to turn on the correct light color. As you make more baskets and level up, the lights will turn on and off faster and faster.
Hot Potato Press the player select button to set the number of players, then shoot until you make a basket and quickly pass the ball to the next player. Whoever has the ball when the music stops is off! Keep playing until you decide the winner.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Keep the appliance clean by wiping it lightly with a cloth.
Keep the device away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not drop the device on a hard surface or expose the device to moisture or water.
The device can be washed on the surface. Remove the electronic module before wiping the device.
SOLUTION
If the meter is not counting properly, try one of the following:
Inflate the ball to make sure it is fully inflated.
Replace batteries
Raise the hoop above your head.
Stay 2 feet or more from the ring.
Move the backrest so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight.
Note: The scoring sensor on the KidiGo basketball hoop works best indoors. If for any reason the unit stops working or fails, do the following:
Turn off the device.
Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
Let the device stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
Switch on the device. The device should now be ready for use again.
If the device still does not work, install a new set of batteries.

How to measure?
Once you have chosen your style and fabric, the next step is to measure the length and width of the curtain rod and curtains you need. There are 3 most common mistakes: hanging curtains that are too short or too long, choosing a curtain rod that is too narrow, and hanging it too low. To avoid these mistakes, measure everything as responsibly as possible.

Curtain length. If you are hanging curtains on a rod with a rail, measure from the very top, if on a rod with rings, measure from the bottom of the rings.
Usually curtains are hung in 4 ways:
1-1.5 cm above the windowsill;
10-15 cm below the windowsill;
1-1.5 cm above the floor;
Leave 10 cm of fabric on the floor.
How to choose a cornice?
Rod cornices are attached to the wall. When choosing a cornice, you should think about what kind of curtains you will hang on it: from a light and translucent fabric, or vice versa from a heavy, dense fabric. If the curtains are heavy, choose a thicker rod, and if the curtains are light, a light string, the tension of which can be adjusted, will be enough for you.
If you are thinking about a rail cornice, just like when choosing a string cornice, you need to consider the length of the window and the weight of the curtain. If the curtains are heavy and the window is long, attach the curtain rod to the ceiling not only along the edges, but also in several places in the middle. Also, don't spare the hooks, if the hooks are spaced too far apart, the curtains will look sloppy and not level. Hanging curtains
