Sport – Le sport
French text "Le sport" with translation
Many people love sports, while many people hate it. Most French people have a positive attitude towards sports, but at the same time they are very lazy. Although they do not spend much time on professional sports, an active lifestyle in France still prevails. The most popular sport among the French is cycling. Usually the French also watch their diet. It is rare to find very overweight people on the street. What can not be said, unfortunately, about our country.
I like sports. Sport is very important in our modern world. If you exercise, then your health improves. Maybe in the future you will be able to avoid many diseases.
In the summer I go swimming, play football and tennis, and often go rollerblading. In winter I go in for skiing and boxing. On average, I spend three days a week on sports. But to be honest, I'm not a very athletic person. Most likely, I am an ordinary amateur and nothing more.
But my brother is the complete opposite. Every day he goes to the stadium to play football. Every morning he runs for 15 minutes. Several times a week we have a rest together and are engaged in tourism. Sometimes we travel to other countries. When we travel, we walk a lot. We can safely say that we have a sports family.
Translation
He is present in the life of every person. In the absence of any kind of sport, the opportunity to have good health disappears, that is, its role, of course, is very large. With the help of various sports, people learn to win, participate in competitions, become winners.

In any sport, the most important desire is: if a person has this desire, then he will be able to succeed under any conditions.
“There is no freedom of expression in our championship”
Triumph forward Viktor Zvarykin became one of the heroes of the team's sensational victory over Krasnye Krylya. The victor spoke about Kobe Bryant, Marilyn Monroe, love for cars and firearms, throwing and relationships in the team in an interview with Sports.ru.
– Anton Ponkrashov is now publicly confronting those who criticize him for playing at the European Championship. He claims that it is difficult to show something without the trust of the coach. This is probably a fairly common story, but tell your version. Where did Viktor Zvarykin disappear in the spring of 2010 at the beginning of last season?
- I didn't disappear anywhere, I also played in UNICS. We have gathered a very strong team, and it so happened that at the beginning of last season, when the Kazan team played very important matches - in the Euroleague qualification, in the opening games of the VTB United League, I simply did not find a place on the site. I worked, prepared for the matches, but after a few months I decided to change the club. I really wanted to play, not just train.
– Evgeniy Pashutin later said that the move to Wings was initiated by your agent, who simply didn’t want to wait…
– I spent almost half a season without playing time, and it’s hard for any player to stay in shape and progress without getting game practice . Naturally, my agent and I wanted me to continue to develop as a player, only my move to Samara was connected with this.
– What was the main problem of last year's Wings?
- We played very good basketball in some matches. But we didn't always succeed in a team game, there were reasons for that. Someone got injured, or a new player came…. But by the end of the season, we were able to really play together and even if we lost all the series in the playoffs, we fought with dignity at every stage. The score in the series was 2:1, and in every match there was a chance to win, even in confrontations with CSKA.
- You are already 25 years old, and you had a very small chance to express yourself. What do you think is the problem?
- At the age of 20, I joined Dynamo Moscow, and it so happened that I joined the club in August, when the main team was formed. Thus, I signed a contract with the farm team for 3 seasons. All this time I was involved in training and games of the first team, but I still couldn’t get a foothold in the base. And only when I moved to UNICS, where Homichus worked then, did I make a leap in my career. Perhaps, unlike most players, I'm a little late, but better late than never.
– What does a player who is 25 years old and has played a small role for most of his career have to do to earn a place in the starting five?
- To be in the starting five, a player needs not only to work well, but to be the best in his position, to prove in training that he deserves to be in the "start". And in order to gain a foothold, you need not to stop there, to constantly progress.
- Do you feel like you're in the starting five? Ready to get started?
- I work as hard as I can and do whatever it takes to get playing time so that I can benefit the team right from the start. Of course, the decision on the "five" is made by the coach, but if he asks me, I will answer: "I'm ready!"
– Is the way your career is going, objectively, or is there something you could change?
– No, I would not like to change anything. I went through a difficult path in basketball, but complaining about fate is not in my habits. I have become who I am, and despite my age, everything is just beginning for me. I am optimistic about the future, enjoy basketball and work on myself.
– Why did you decide to move to Triumph? Is this an attempt to start over from scratch? Were there any other suggestions?
- It was a pleasure for me to return to Valdemaras Homichus, this coach helped me open up in Kazan, he trusts me. After last season, I had several offers from Russian clubs, but when I saw Triumph in the list of "employers", I practically did not hesitate. I am very glad that I ended up in the Lyubertsy team.
– Have you thought about going to Europe and trying to do it there?
– I think every player wants to be successful in their home country. Now the level of Russian basketball is very high, our championship is one of the strongest in Europe. Therefore, if you leave Russia, then, probably, only in the NBA.
– What tasks do you personally set for yourself for the next season?
– I want to be as useful as possible to Triumf, I want to know after every game that I did everything for the team, everything for the victory.
– There is a film called “Basketball is a game for blacks”. Do you think this is really true?
- The NBA Finals proved that this was not the case. There are many great white players and now basketball is very popular in Europe, basketball is played all over the world. Basketball is a game for blacks, for whites, for yellows - for everyone.
– So white people still know how to jump? You have a good jump - is it the result of training?
– Thank you. I think that my jump is natural data and the result of constant work. I like to score spectacularly, I love to dunk and I can even promise all the fans that I will try to bet as often as possible from the top!
- Sergey Bykov says that most of the players of his generation have gaps in technology. Do you see gaps in yourself? Is there any way to deal with this?
- Every player has gaps in technique - both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. You just need to be able to hide them, work on them individually. As for me personally, I try to pay special attention to throws, to improve the vision of the court.
– Do you feel the distance between the Americans and everyone else in Triumph?
– No, the distance is not felt. We have a young team, there is no division into "young" - "old", "Russian" - "legionnaires", everyone speaks English. Together we had a great free time in Lithuania at the training camp, and here we have already made several trips to Mega with almost the entire squad.
- You played with a variety of foreigners. Who would be called the most colorful and why?
- After the Dynamo farm team, I ended up in UNICS, where very bright personalities played at that time, which made a great impression on me, because before the Kazan team I had not had to play at such a high level. Saulius Štombergas is an outstanding player, it is simply impossible to beat him on shots, he never misses! Terrell Lyday is a great basketball player with incredible speed on the court. Maciej Lampe is a great center from whom I learned a lot...
As for the colorfulness, it is very difficult to surprise me in this regard, in my youth I had a chance to communicate with rather extravagant people, you rarely meet such people in basketball.
– Is there anything in the Russian PBL that could be boasted to foreigners?
– In world basketball, the NBA sets the tone, we look at America and learn from them. But Russian and, in general, European basketball is distinguished by its teamwork. And our viewers know how to cheer, they understand the game, it's great.
– Who are your best friends on the team?
– With Artem Kuzyakin and Dima Kulagin.
– Do you think it is necessary to be friends with partners?
– Friendship cannot be imposed, but it is desirable to communicate and maintain good relations. If you are friends with the players in life, then you understand them better on the court, you know what they can do, a sense of comradeship appears, and this unites the team even more. It's always nice to play in a team with those people with whom you communicate with more than just exchanging greetings.
I would also add that if people treat each other coldly or quarreled, then basketball can help to make peace, sports bring people together.
- Dennis Rodman claims that he never spoke to either Jordan or Pippen...
- Rodman is another story, he wasn't friends with them on the set either. Chicago was one such team, very special.
– Can't lifelong friendship have the opposite effect on the court in the event of some unpleasant events?
- I can say for sure that men's and women's basketball are fundamentally different in this regard. All their emotions, experiences and moods of the basketball players are brought to the court, such is the nature of women. Men, on the contrary, going out into the "clearing", leave behind all domestic and life troubles and completely surrender to the game. When I take the ball in my hands, I forget about all the problems.
- Triumph is known for a variety of non-basketball events that allow players to spend time in an informal setting. Do you have any idea - which would you like to take part in?
- I am always open to various projects of the club, especially when it comes to communication with fans, with children. If we talk about my ideas and abilities… I can play the piano, I'm self-taught, I can play two beautiful songs, but I can't sing and I hate karaoke. I also know how to cook, my signature dish is shrimp, come and treat me. I can dance if needed. In general, I did not think about what I can do, except for basketball - it takes all my time.
– Do you have any special talents?
– Except to sleep anywhere, in any position, under any circumstances. I am a master at this!
– Do you often dream about basketball?
- Sometimes, yes. I see myself as both a player and just a spectator. The most vivid dream that I had about basketball was how I played on the roof of a skyscraper one on one with Kobe Bryant! We didn't compete, we just played, Kobe taught me some tricks. And believe me, at the next training session I hit all my throws!
– What do you dislike about Russian basketball?
- I don't like that there is no freedom of expression in our championship. In the NBA, a player enters the court like a Christmas tree - what is there on him: stockings, bandages, socks, rubber bands ... We all have the same, it's boring. But basketball is a show. We haven't been able to do this show yet, hanging from the ring after a dunk is not allowed. Why?
By the way, it is quite logical to assume that the absence of a show is one of the reasons why only those part of the people who are interested in this sport thanks to family or friends who have been going to the stands for generations for a long time know about basketball. But the country should be infected with the basketball virus, basketball should be shouted at every corner, advertising should be on every channel, in every newspaper. This is what is missing.
- There is a stereotypical image of an NBA basketball player. Expensive car, baggy clothes, jewelry, tattoos. Is there a stereotypical image of a PBL player? Why not? What values prevail among basketball players?
- I think that there is no stereotypical image of a Russian league player yet. The league itself is still too young to give rise to stereotypes, and all the guys are very different. Personally, this fashion is alien to me - massive gold jewelry and baggy pants. And we don’t need to create any stereotypes, basketball players themselves are very recognizable characters - primarily because of their height.
– No tattoos or earrings in your ear either?
– About 7-8 years ago I pierced my ear for an earring, it was the right mood.
No tattoos, just didn't have the desire to get one yet. I am not afraid of pain at all, so this factor does not hold me back.
– What kind of music do you listen to?
- Various, depending on the mood. But I love rap. I've been listening to it since childhood, and even if I hadn't become a basketball player, I would still listen to rap. I also like rock music. Especially Linkin park, I have been listening to them since the time when they were not yet popular in Russia, from their first album. This is one of the few groups, 80% of whose songs have become real hits.
– Rap fans often try to write songs in this style themselves, are you an exception?
- Never wrote songs. Sometimes I write poetry. When in love.
- What car do you have?
- White Volvo XC-90. My first car was a Ford Focus, which I got when I was 19. Cars are my passion.
– Why Volvo? An unusual choice for a young guy who loves to race.
- This car was sold to me by a good friend, the car is comfortable, reliable and stylish. If it was a different color, I wouldn't have bought it.
Of course, if I had the opportunity, I would buy a whole “fleet”, as they say, according to my mood. Three cars is the minimum. The first is sports, Nissan GTR, like a weekend car to drive in your spare time. The second is a sedan, something like a Mercedes S-class. And thirdly, a jeep - for example, an Audi Q7, so that you can get home from the hall with comfort, without straining. Still, it is difficult to change from a jeep to a sports car, in large cars you have a good view, very freely, you are above the rest, it's like being a basketball player among ordinary people.
In general, I really like American muscle cars. I would take a 70 Chevrolet Camaro SS, but it costs some sky-high money, even if it comes from the USA.
– Has the life of a professional athlete forced you to change somehow?
- Yes, for the better. Sports life imposes certain obligations if a player wants to progress and stay at a high level for as long as possible. A professional athlete must take care of his health, because it is health that allows him to work. I watch what I eat, I don't eat any chips, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I follow the regime, because I need to recover from training and matches.
– Do you visit night clubs?
- I've lost the habit of going to clubs to dance the night away. Now I like to go to a pleasant club with good company, sit, chat, discuss business in a relaxed atmosphere, maybe dance a little.
– How long does it take on average to play basketball?
– A day? Almost all the time. In addition to training, in my free time I watch NBA matches and read basketball news.
- Do you communicate on social networks?
- I have pages in contact, in classmates. Knock - I'll add everyone as a friend, I'm kind! But I prefer to communicate live, nothing can replace the voice, gestures, manners. In my opinion, the most useful invention of the Internet is not social networks, but skype, which allows you to communicate with friends from other cities and countries.
– How do you feel about planking?
- I'm cold about it. On the one hand, it's funny. But on the other hand, it's so stupid!
– Do you watch a lot of TV?
– No, I don't watch it at all. Maybe three minutes in the morning with the TV running in the background.
– Do you have bad habits?
- I don't make my bed in the morning and forget to do the dishes.
– Where do you go?
– At exhibitions, at the theater, at the cinema, meeting with friends. Last Friday, for the first time in several years, I went to the exhibition of Salvador Dali - by the way, together with Dima Kulagin. In Samara, I often went to the theater with the Kuzyakins, the performances were chosen by Artem and his wife, and I joined.
– What are you reading now?
- Bought at Akunin airport "The whole world theater". I have long read the entire series about Fandorin, I liked it.
One of my favorite authors is Remarque, he is an excellent psychologist, his style is simple and interesting, the books seem to tell about our acquaintances, maybe our grandparents, as the war theme sounds.
From the "fresh" books I read twice "Shantaram" by Gregory Davis, this is a book about a man who fled from Australia to India. The book is very easy to read and very engrossing. Soon, Johnny Depp will make a movie based on this book.
– Favorite movie?
- There are many such, for example, "Gladiator", "Braveheart", "Godfather". Of the latter, Avatar made a very big impression on me. In "Avatar" in addition to excellent graphics, excellent camera work, the plot requires special attention. It is not as simple as it seems at first glance. For me, the meaning of the film is that a person will stop at nothing, regardless of what he has achieved, what he already has, such is human nature. There are lands - but more new territories are needed, there is money - but even more is needed. So it is in sports. You can't get enough of victories.
– Favorite basketball movie?
- "Coach Carter".
– Do you watch a lot of basketball? What style of teams do you like?
– I love basketball very much, I try to watch all the NBA matches, from the Russian championship I watch our opponents and some decisive games.
– Have you ever wondered what you would do if you didn't play basketball?
– I would still become an athlete. When I was at school, almost every week I was invited to different sections - to volleyball, to be a goalkeeper in a football team ... Although I would not refuse to be a goalkeeper - you stand like Valdez, the whole match, you watch beautiful football!
Do you like football? Are you rooting for Barcelona?
- Manchester. I have been rooting for the Mancunians since early childhood, as far as I can remember.
- They say that you got into basketball almost by accident. How did it happen?
– Of all the coaches, the basketball coach was the first to come to our class and asked whose father was over two meters tall. My dad's height is 194 cm, but I boldly raised my hand. I lied, what can you do. That's how I got into basketball.
– Are your parents from sports?
– Not at all, both engineers. True, in his youth, his father played basketball at the student level. He closely follows my career and criticizes after every game! I don't know what to do to get praise from him, maybe 50 points in a match.
– So your father trained you as a child? Supported your decision to play sports?
- It's important that when a child is placed in a section during adolescence, it helps to stay away from the streets. I grew up in not the best area of Moscow, in the south, where there were always a lot of ethnic groups, I saw a lot and I am very grateful to basketball that I became who I am.
I ran around the streets with all sorts of punks, the guys twisted emblems from cars, took CDs out of music stores - I'm not at all proud of these actions, but at that age such things were necessary to assert myself. Probably many of my peers have gone through this.
Basketball helped me make the right choice and saved me from possible unpleasant consequences.
- Which of the coaches gave you the most?
– My first coach is Andrey Vyacheslavovich Shigin. He trained me for 10 years and gave me a lot. We always played with teams older than us, he kept us in a tight grip, was strict with us, prepared us not only for basketball, but also for real life.
– Who can force you to do what you don't want?
– Love… And a coach!
– Can you shoot a firearm?
- Yes, I think it's because of my many hours of training in CounterStrike, as a child I had a friend who became the city's champion in this game. I also hung out in front of the computer for hours.
Now I like to shoot at the range, especially with pistols. Maybe in time I will collect a collection of firearms.
- You studied to be a manager, but once said that you could not imagine yourself in this role. Why study then?
– I'm sorry that I couldn't devote enough time to my education. I graduated from school without triples. If I didn’t go in for sports, I would definitely be among the medalists, but for me basketball is more important.
As for higher education, unfortunately, now for some reason it is more important to have a certificate of higher education than real knowledge. If I have the opportunity, I will be happy to learn languages. I would like to learn Spanish and French. And also German, to understand what the Rammstein group sings about.
– What annoys you in Moscow? In which city did you feel most comfortable?
– Traffic jams, cars of officials with special signals…. Paradoxically, I feel most comfortable in Moscow. True, this summer I spent three weeks resting in Odessa with friends, and I really liked it. No traffic jams!
- Have you tried to imitate someone, learn from one of the famous players?
- I like Kobe Bryant. I watched all of his matches last year. It is difficult to imitate Bryant, because the style of American basketball is different from ours, different rules, different partners, and the things that Kobe does are almost impossible to translate into our reality. But it's worth learning from Bryant his vision of the court, his understanding of the game.
I try to learn something useful from every player I play with or against. Played one on one with Maciej Lampe, he taught me how to do a low post. We often stayed with Terrell Lyday after training, he showed me some things, taught me one-on-one defense, gave advice, talked a lot about speed on the court. I agree with David Blatt who said that basketball is a game of making decisions in the shortest possible time. Laidei also told me that in the "clearing" you need to do everything sharply, at maximum speed.
- You are usually singled out for long shots. What do you need to do to learn how to shoot well?
– Trajan Langdon answered this question best of all, he said: “Give it up, give it up, give it up!”. I practice shooting all the time, doing about 300 long shots a day.
- Players often have some favorite, so-called "bait" points on the court, from where they can shoot the ring almost without a miss. It's probably stupid to ask you about this, is it a tactical secret?
- There is no secret, because I do not have such a point. I can shoot from different positions, and wherever I get the ball, I can shoot on the ring, I threaten.
- Can you remember your most memorable shot?
– When I was 9-10 years old, we went to a tournament in St. Petersburg. It was a crucial match, we played point for point, 10 seconds before the siren I was fouled, but I missed both free throws. The opponents picked up the ball, but I robbed the first number on the dribble, ran away and scored in the last second. This throw remained in the memory. I can’t say that it was the brightest throw, but I remember it.
– Perfect holiday?
- As Marilyn Monroe said in the movie Only Girls in Jazz: "The main thing is not where you spend time, but with whom." Marilyn is worth listening to. I love spending my free time with the people I love, and it doesn't matter where.
- Anything other than basketball that you're willing to talk about 24 hours a day?
- Relations between a man and a woman.
– What are you dreaming about?
– So that there are no traffic jams, so that people are healthy…. If we talk about the future, this is a cozy home, a happy ideal family. True, I am not in a hurry to get married, my profession comes first. And if now I have to choose between basketball and a girl, then I will choose basketball.
