The ball is tipped, and there you are … trying to wrap your head around the many ways to watch March Madness and the various log-ins you might need to do so. Every one of the NCAA’s 2022 Men’s Basketball Tournament’s 67 games will air live somewhere, but in many cases, they’ll require a subscription to tune in.

Why is so much of the tournament available only to those who pay for cable? Because that’s how CBS and Turner Sports want it. The companies are paying a lot for the tournament’s rights: In 2010, they shelled out $10.8 billion to air the men’s basketball tournament from 2011 through 2024. And that agreement has already been extended for another eight years and another $8.8 billion, locking up the rights through 2032. The networks make good money selling ads — this year’s rates are well above 2021’s — but the presence of so many games on basic cable, including this year’s Final Four and championship game, also acts as a deterrence against cord-cutting. Cord-cutters can get cable channels, though, either through streaming services tailored for sports or made to emulate live TV, and several of those services with those channels — like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Fubo TV, Sling TV, and others — offer free-trial options.

Here are your options for watching this year’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament, organized by how you can get your game on.

You can watch all 67 games live on one of four television networks: CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV. All of a given network’s games will also be available on the website for that network. The CBS games won’t require a cable log-in, but the others will. You’ll also be able to watch on the March Madness Live app with a cable log-in, either on a mobile device or via devices like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox, Google TV, and some LG Smart TVs. (One handy feature on the app: You’ll be able to watch two games at once, so you won’t need to toggle between close finishes — though this feature is only available on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Xbox One. )

In addition to all of the above, you’ll also be able to watch CBS games on Paramount+ with a premium subscription. (Note that Paramount+ also offers a free trial and a handful of discount options.)

You’ll be able to watch CBS games over the air on television, and can also watch those games on CBS’s website without authenticating your cable subscription. You’ll be able to watch CBS games on the March Madness Live app (on a mobile device only) or anywhere on Paramount+ with a premium subscription. You won’t be able to watch any of the games on TBS, TNT, or truTV, except for a limited free preview on the March Madness Live app.

You’ll have the same limits on your Turner Sports options as the above, but without the ability to watch CBS games on Paramount+. In other words: May we suggest a sports bar?

7 Ways to Watch NCAA College Football Off Cable

College football is back, which means the quest to make the CFB playoffs and win a championship has begun. If you cut the cord and reverse the cable or want to, you won't have to miss the sport. If you're asking yourself, "How can I watch football without a cable?" we are here to help.

Contents

How to watch college football without cable in 2019

1. Sling TV

2. HDTV Antenna

3. Playstation View

4. Hulu Live

5. YouTube TV

6. FuboTV (or AT&T TV Now)

7. College Sports Live and ESPN+ 9030 90

We show you how to enjoy the 2019-20 NCAA college football season. with multiple services. In fact, it's easier than ever before to tune in these days, even if you cut the cord like me.

You have many streaming services and applications that will allow you to watch football in 2019year. Wherever you are, in the living room or on the go with your phone. Some of these options even let you watch games from a web browser so you can watch at work from your computer. Here's how to get started and what you need to know.

How to Watch College Football Without Cable in 2019

Now, before we start talking about each of these methods, we want to mention TV channels and networks first, as it is extremely important. Here the determining factor will be where you live and what you want to watch.

First, because they play most college games. We're talking about ESPN, ESPN 2, and ESPN 3. Then you'll need access to ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and then move on to things like the SEC network and the ACC network. Not to mention BTN, Pac-12, Mountain West TV, etc. Where you live and the team you want to follow will play an important role in your choice of service.

Now that we've got that, here's your option for the best way to watch college football without a cable.

1. Sling TV

My personal favorite is Dish's Sling TV, which is streamed live over the internet and they offer a ton of football. Sling TV can completely replace your cable bill, and it's only $25 a month with no contracts, or $40 for Sling Blue or Sling Orange and all channels. Plus, you can log into ESPN apps with Sling TV unlike others and watch NCAA Football on the go.

In fact, Sling TV is one of the best for sports because they have all the channels from ESPN, NFL Network, RedZone, Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, ACC, local Fox, NBC and more. The basic package includes over 40 premium channels for $25. In addition, Sling offers DVR recording, multiplayer streaming, and more. There is a small chance they will lose Fox channels in 2019year due to negotiations, but we will have to wait and see.

In addition, Sling TV works almost anywhere and everywhere. Whether it's on your TV or by logging in on your phone, laptop, tablet, computer, or even your web browser. It is literally the most versatile way to watch TV on the market. It also works with streaming boxes, Amazon Firestick or TV, Roku, Xbox, PS4, Apple TV and more. Try it free for 7 days.

2. HDTV Antenna

Perhaps the easiest way to watch TV and NCAA football without a cable is with an antenna. Whether it's a set of old school rabbit ears or a new HDTV antenna, they both work. With an OTA antenna, you can watch games on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX in HD 1080p. Yes, these days you will get these channels in HD, even from the antenna.

Last year I went with a TiVo BOLT and a newer HDTV antenna from Amazon. And while BOLT is not required, you will get a better experience. The antenna picks up local games and a bunch of other channels. In some cases, the antenna had better image quality than the cable. Not to mention, BOLT offers DVR recording and built-in apps like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and more. So you can use it for more than just football.

Be aware that some of the biggest and most important prime time games will air this year on ABC or Fox. Games that will determine who advances and who relegates to the playoffs. And you can watch them 100% free in HD with your antenna. Please.

3. Playstation View

Like Sling TV, Playstation Vue is an online live streaming service and they have four different plans you can choose from. All of them offer a decent amount of football. PS Vue has a core lineup of popular channels starting at 49$.99 and she has no contracts.

You can get their top channel lineup + sports from the Basic package for $59.99 per month. Bringing you ESPN, ABC, CBS, FOX, Big 10, FS1/2, NBC, NFL Network and much more. Plus, there are additional $5 or $10 add-on packages with even more sports, movies, and premiums.

4. Hulu Live

If you haven't tried Hulu or Hulu with Live TV for a few years, this is really a great option in 2019or 2020 and one of the best alternatives to cable TV. Also, Hulu is arguably the easiest, best, and even after you cut the cord.

Here's the deal. While Hulu Live costs $45 a month, it's the only plan. There are no add-ons or obfuscated packages. This base fee gives you access to the entire ESPN family of networks, including ESPN Goal Line and ESPN College Extra. Not to mention NBC, FOX, CBS, ABC, Big 10 and SEC, just to name a few.

Hulu still has a huge content library, tons of live TV channels, and just about every local and national football club you could ever want. Register Today.

5. YouTube TV

Next comes Google's streaming TV service, YouTube TV. Basically, it works just like PS Vue or Sling TV and is perfect for football fans.

For $49 a month, you get access to everything on YouTube, live TV, sports, video-on-demand, DVR features, and more. YouTube TV has access to most of the important college football channels and networks, not to mention most of the NFL.

The only problem with YouTube TV is that you may experience regional restrictions when trying to watch games on ABC, etc. and some regional affiliates are missing. All FS channels will provide you with a lot of NCAA college football, so that's a plus. Try it for free today and see if you qualify by clicking here.

6. FuboTV (or AT&T TV Now)

We didn't want this entire guide to be dedicated to streaming services, but this is your only option if you're giving up on cable TV. Like Sling and YouTube TV, FuboTV is a popular "built for sports" streaming service that you should consider. Then AT&T has its own streaming service known as AT&T TV Now. However, we want to talk about FuboTV. Just take a look at this list below!

On FuboTV, the basic plan is $55 a month and gets you almost any American football, with one big exception. . This is the only drawback of this reliable cable TV alternative. Fubo has basketball, football, NFL games and more. Plus, for an extra $9, you can add the Sports package with regions like PAC-12 Network, FOX College Sports, Stadium 1, 2, 3, and many other college football channels.

You can also check out AT&T TV Now, which is simply renamed DirecTV Now, and while you get access to most games, it costs $70 a month and you can also pay for cable TV.

7. College Sports Live and ESPN+

Last but not least, we want to talk about two little services that will help you enjoy the season. These are ESPN+ and College Sports Live from CBS. These are add-ons you'll want to consider on top of something like Sling TV for additional content.

College Sports Live is a live streaming service that shows every college sports from over 50 schools nationwide. So, if you're following a small school that doesn't always air on national TV, you can find it on CSL. And it's only $10 a month. However, they. So if your team is rarely televised, you're in luck, but if they play on ESPN, you won't be able to televise the game using College Sports Live.

Then, if you're on a budget, try ESPN+, which comes from ESPN themselves. And while it's nothing like all the services on this list, you can get tons of content for as little as $4. 99 a month. You get access to games and tons of ESPN+-exclusive content (like the Peyton's Places show) for a small fee. It works on phones, tablets, laptops and a number of other areas. This is not a bundled service, just an available add-on, so keep that in mind.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, we want to share our opinion on the two best options for watching American football live and without cable. It's Sling TV or Hulu Live. Both services have their pros and cons and may appeal to different people. If you like a lot of TV shows and original programming, Hulu has plenty of them besides football.

If you're looking for a complete cable alternative that's a great way to watch college football at the same time, Sling TV is your best bet. You can't go wrong with any of the options, so take a look at the channel lineups and choose what works best for you. Before you leave, here's our cord-cutting guide and a few things you should consider or think about before giving up on cable TV.

How to replace watching sports during quarantine

Entertainment

If you are experiencing a lack of emotions from watching games while all competitions are suspended, we advise you to try sports simulators.

EA Sports

Football

FIFA 20

PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, XBOX ENDENTON, NINTONTON If you don't play video games, you've most likely heard about the football simulator FIFA. Professional athletes play it regularly, and during self-isolation they even hold a bunch of tournaments where they compete with each other. And the name itself is quite catchy and recognizable, because it directly tells us about the connection with the international football association. It is also the most accessible sports simulator, as it can be played on almost any device. There is no FIFA 20 on phones and tablets, but there is an analogue from the same developers - FIFA Mobile. Of course, it is far from the level of graphics of the computer and console versions, but if you are used to playing on mobile devices, then it is quite possible to kill time in the game.

Still, the main advantage of FIFA 20 is the huge number of licenses for the major leagues and the detailed faces of the world's most famous football players. A couple of years ago, the developers even bought the rights to Eurocups, and now the player can fully immerse himself in the atmosphere of the final matches of the Champions League and Europa League. In addition, the video game has the opportunity to play matches of the women's world championship and try yourself in the story campaign. The most popular game mode is online Ultimate Team. There you can collect your team and compete with other players. Just be warned: it's addictive. So do not be surprised if one day you are late for a working video conference because you opened another virtual "pack" with cards.

eFootball PES 2020

Platforms: PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, Android

PES is another football game, the second most popular in the world. If FIFA attracts players with licensed leagues and an abundance of advertising, then the Japanese developers from Konami are taking a more modest path. Yes, they have partnership agreements with Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern and Juventus (and these teams have been worked out really well), but basically they bribe at the expense of another. PES shows the highest level of game graphics and ball physics. In the same FIFA, the detailing looks a little cartoonish, and their competitors do not suffer from this. And yet, a meager number of licenses does not give a full experience of the video game. After all, when you play in the Premier League, you obviously want to see emblems, stadiums and club kits that are close to real, and not the monotonous red kit of Liverpool without identification marks.

But the developers are trying to compensate for this with other leagues. Fans of Italy and France will definitely not have any problems. And in the game in full are available, for example, the championships of Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. We don’t know if this might interest you, but if for some reason you follow football in these countries, you will be pleasantly surprised. Konami also has an exclusive contract with the Russian Premier League. So this fact will definitely interest everyone who cannot imagine a football simulator without our clubs. Only now, the developers should obviously work on the development of the Russian championship. After all, the faces of the players are most often simply unrecognizable.

Football Manager 2020

Platforms: PC (Windows, Mac OS), Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android

Have you ever imagined being the head coach or sports director of your favorite football club? If yes, then this game is definitely for you. As such, there is no football here. You can't play for teams and compete with friends, but the functionality of "near-football" cases is really diverse. You can make absolutely any decision in the club: control the actions of scouts, negotiate new contracts, communicate with management and manage marketing campaigns. As for football issues directly, here you are given the opportunity to create your own tactics, talk with players, give tips during matches, and even give intra-team nicknames.

There are not enough licenses in the game, but they basically do not solve anything here, because you don't have to see the team logo to manage club affairs. Particularly pleased with the huge number of players, ranging from youth squads. If you have ever heard the name of any player from the second Russian league, then here you will certainly find him. And yet this game is largely text-based. This is not an arcade where you can relax in the evening after a hard day. Here you will have to rack your brains to explain to the player why he is not going to the main team, and build a training schedule so that the players do not overwork before the next meeting. Don't forget to manage tactics that someone might be unhappy with. And it’s unlikely that you will be able to put the “tiki-taka” of the conditional “Ufa”, since there is not enough class of players. If you are ready for such difficulties, then you will undoubtedly like this game.

Hockey

NHL 20

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

If everything is more or less clear with football video games, then fans of other sports obviously have more problems in finding the actual simulator. And yet this does not apply to hockey. Of course, there is no competition in this niche, but there is a quite decent NHL 20 game from EA Sports (the developers of FIFA). True, this is not so much a hockey simulator as a video game about this sport in North America. After all, here the whole process revolves strictly around the NHL and other American leagues. But that's probably a good thing. After all, this championship is worked out perfectly here. The faces of all the players correspond to the real ones, there are all the detailed arenas and even mascots celebrating the victory with the hockey players.

The simulator will also please Russian hockey fans, because many of our compatriots play in the NHL. And their images are worked out here. There is also the Russian team. True, given that the game does not have a license for the KHL, the team is represented by players from the National Hockey League. And yet there is one Russian club here - this is the Ufa Salavat Yulaev. And the video game also features many arcade modes: like training on a frozen lake or three-player competition in the “every man for himself” mode, where you can choose from Alexander Ovechkin, even rapper Snoop Dogg. And, of course, do not forget about one of the main attributes of hockey - fights on ice. Here they are, so if you are not satisfied with the score, you can try to solve everything with your fists. Here it looks more than organic.

Basketball

NBA 2K20

Platforms: PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android

NBA 2K20 is an almost perfect sports game. In addition to all the banal (but still pleasant) things like detailing athletes and arenas, here the developers went even further. The game has commentators who discuss the match in the analytics studio, and a group of cheerleaders with dances, which can be watched with no less interest than the game. In general, the helping hand of the league itself is felt in this. After all, the NBA is the main sports entertainment industry in North America, so all marketing in the association is treated with great trepidation. Here you have a men's league, and a women's, and even a student championship.

The main problem for the player may be only the difficulty. This game is clearly not an easy one, and even if you have previously played sports hockey or football simulators, it is unlikely that you will be able to master NBA 2K20 in an hour or two. But for this, the game has a lot of tips and a training mode in which you can teach yourself virtual basketball. And when you learn it, we have no doubt that you will get real pleasure from the game.

UFC 3

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One

MMA fans seem to be the luckiest. After all, UFC 3 - along with NBA 2K20 - is an example of an ideal sports simulator. The game has everything to please you, as long as you are passionate about the UFC promotion. You can fight as you like and with anyone, because in the simulator there are more than two hundred licensed athletes of both sexes and all weight categories. And the mechanics of battles are very well developed. If you play for Conor, you can hit your opponents with a branded "turntable", for Khabib - you are practically invulnerable on the ground. And such individualism is present in every fighter, which cannot but rejoice. There are also UFC legends here and even Bruce Lee, who died long before the league. So if you've ever imagined a fight between Conor and Bruce Lee, you might want to try watching it in game.

Another advantage of the video game is the solo career mode. Here you can both create your own fighter, and “pump” an existing one. In addition to the fights themselves, all the well-known attributes of the UFC are available here: trash talk at press conferences, conflicts with Dana White on Twitter and, of course, the battles themselves in the octagon. So we think that all those who dream of a career as a fighter should try their hand at a video game so far.

F1 2019

Platforms: PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, Xbox One

This game is a cross between a sports and racing simulator. However, like Formula 1 itself. And yet we included it in our list, because we now lack racing in the same way as all other sports. F1 captivates in the same way as all other video games based on popular franchises: the tracks and racers are perfectly recreated here, down to the smallest detail. And not only modern athletes, but also riders from the past. For example, you can play as the legendary Ayrton Senna.
